Meet Emily, a 3rd-year student in the C*C program and an Executive Member in the C*C Course Union!! Her pronouns are she/her! A fun fact about Emily is that she loves watching and playing soccer. Go Italy go!! 🇮🇹⚽ On campus, she is a part of the Ryerson Orientation Committee, a member of Ryerson Catholics, involved in the Ryerson intramural soccer league and a Campus Ambassador for Sun Life! Off-campus she is a summer intern at Sun Life Financial, enjoys relaxing and watching Netflix, and she loves a good book alongside an even better cup of tea! Her current go-to songs that always make her dance are…"Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)” by Elton John & Dua Lipa 🎶 💃

A fun fact about Caroline is that she has started to collect Manga and loves painting by numbers in her free time! 🎨 She loves cats and de-stresses by watching TV with a nice cup of tea! 🐱📺🍵

The Aboriginal Student Career Mentorship Program is designed for students who identify as Indigenous / Aboriginal / First Nations, Inuit, Metis. The program runs from January 19th to March 30th and will focus on:

1) Identity and Community
2) Navigating Tokenism and finding a voice
3) Choosing your work environment and understanding work culture
4) Understanding your values and strengths

Group sessions are January 19th and March 30th with 1:1 mentorship sessions offered between.

Career Builder is a unique program created and hosted by the Ryerson University Career & Co-op Centre that is designed to work with students from equity-seeking groups (women, 2SLGBTQ, people with a visible or invisible disability, racialized or Indigenous). In partnership with Scotiabank, CGI, and Hilti the Ryerson Career Centre will connect with students to improve career readiness, explore career path options and connect you with leaders from Scotiabank, CGI, or Hilti to help build your professional networks.

Program Outline:
1) Matched with a Professional Mentor from the host organization (Scotiabank, CGI or Hilti)
2) Induction Session - Program kick-off where you meet your mentor
3) Mock Interview - Practice interviews with recruiters from the host organizations
4) Masterclass - Sit down conversations with Senior Leaders from the host organizations
5) Day-in-the-Life - Sit down conversations with people in jobs you are interested in

Program requirements:
1) must identify as a person from an equity-seeking group (women, 2SLGBTQ, people with a visible or invisible disability, racialized or Indigenous)
2) Open to attend program dates from February 2021 - April 2021
