I’m honoured to share that I’ve been appointed as a Director with the PMI Lakeshore Ontario Chapter , a professional community of over 7,000 members.

PMILOC has been an incredible platform for growth, leadership, and community impact—working alongside incredibly talented professionals.

As an immigrant, achieving this milestone within such a short time is both humbling and a powerful reminder that commitment to excellence and showing up consistently can open great doors.

In this role, I’m excited to support strong governance, deepen cross-portfolio collaboration, enhance member engagement, and help advance the project management profession in our community.

Thank you to the Board and the entire chapter for the trust and support.

Every tech innovation starts with ideals, and ends with monetization.

We’ve seen it happen too many times: tech that promised connection, knowledge, or creativity… only to become machines optimized for engagement and revenue.

Facebook wanted to connect the world, then monetized attention.

Google wanted to organize knowledge, then auctioned it off to advertisers.

YouTube gave everyone a voice, then turned the algorithm into a gatekeeper.

Twitter (X) promised open conversation, then sold attention as a product to both subscribers and advertisers.

Instagram was about moments, now it’s about influencer marketing.

TikTok democratized creativity, then converted it into data for precision ads.

And now, OpenAI’s ChatGPT Atlas shows signs of walking that same path.
What began as “AI for humanity” is becoming “AI for enterprise”, a multi-billion-dollar system projected to earn $1 to 2 billion from subscriptions and $5 to 10 billion from ads, data, and integrations.

It’s not evil, it’s evolution.

But somewhere between vision and revenue, ideals get rewritten into strategy decks.
Tech doesn’t lose its ideals overnight. It trades it - one KPI at a time.

So the real question is:
Can innovation stay true to its ideals and scale sustainably?
Or does monetization always rewrite the mission?
