Kissing spine

Researchers discover a genetic connection for kissing spines. KS is a common cause of poor performance in sport horses, characterised by impingement & overriding of spinous processes. The research identified one associated variant, or allele, on Chromosome 25. The discovered allele isn’t causative for kissing spines, but one of many factors linked to disease development/severity.
