Today, on the 5th anniversary of the terrorist attack that took the lives of Salman Afzaal, Madiha Salman, Yumna Afzaal, and Talat Afzaal, we stand in solidarity with Muslim communities across this country as we remember their lives and honour their legacy. Islamophobia has no place in Canada.

Community‑based projects for seniors, led by seniors, are at the heart of the New Horizons for Seniors Program.

Applications are open until July 14, with funding now doubled to up to $50,000 for local projects. Senior citizens in Don Valley West continue to benefit from these programs.

The Disability Tax Credit is becoming more accessible. Through the Spring Economic Update, we’re proposing to streamline applications for those with certain diagnosed, long‑lasting conditions, expand the list of medical professionals who can certify eligibility, and invest $345M over six years in expanded tax relief and increased benefit payments. These changes will help thousands more Canadians access the benefits they deserve.

Simply put: there are too many unknowns to make an informed decision on an expansion of Billy Bishop.

Before considering expansion, we will need a clear, evidence-based business case; comprehensive consultations with the people of Toronto; and guaranteed protection of the surrounding environment.

With declining ridership at Billy Bishop, expanding Toronto Pearson through Pearson LIFT makes more sense than the current Billy Bishop proposal.
