As of now, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a terminal neurodegenerative disease that impacts thousands of Canadians. I was pleased to meet with ALS Canada to discuss how they are bringing together resources and initiatives to lead the global pursuit of a cure for ALS.

Improving the lives of those living with ALS, including finding a cure, requires a unified, coordinated approach. Having known friends who had ALS, this is a cause that I am proud to support.

Feeding and caring for those in need, Flemingdon Park Ministry has been serving our community for over 40 years. I'm looking forward to attending their Harvest Open House at Common Table Farm on Laurentide Drive on Saturday, September 12.

I invite you to join and attend culinary and farm workshops, kid friendly activities, and a silent auction, including winning a dinner with your local Member of Parliament.

In walking away from trade negotiations with the United States, our calculation was simple: they asked far too much and offered far too little. The US approach would have seen Canada become more reliant on the US, not less.

In response to US tariffs, we are:

Running through every province and territory, the Trans Canada Trail not only connects Canadians to nature but also to one another. For more than 30 years, the Trail has grown to be the largest multi-use trail system in the world.

I was happy to meet with Matt DeCourcey, Director of Government Affairs at the Trans Canada Trail, to discuss how the federal government can best support the Trail's continued growth, so that it may benefit Canadians for generations to come.

As Queen of Canada, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II reigned with a strong sense of duty, compassion, wisdom, and above all, grace. As the longest serving monarch in Commonwealth history, her portrait hung in schools, halls, Legions, and community centres across the country for 70 years.

On the fourth anniversary of her passing, I remember her love for Canada and the important place she holds in our country's history.

It was great to return to Generations Toronto today with my colleague Maggie Chi and see how much progress has been made since my last visit.

This innovative intergenerational community will bring together housing, long-term care, early childhood learning, health services and community spaces, all in one place.

I look forward to seeing residents move in and Generations Toronto fully come to life in Don Valley West.
