For the past year, I have been quietly working behind the scenes. Endless conversations. Countless decisions. Thoughtful adjustments.

March 8th is International Women’s Day - a moment to recognize the strength, resilience and creativity of women everywhere.
This year’s theme Give to Gain, reminds us that when women are supported with opportunity and resources the impact has a far reaching impact.
Through my work I have the privilege of meeting and working alongside remarkable women.
These are some of the women behind Savuti who show up and inspire me!

Behind every piece is a journey.

I am sharing a behind the scenes on a sourcing safari. A side note - Safari comes from the Swahili word which means journey or trip.

I follow my instincts and go to the back streets, (maybe not always wise), visit markets, draw inspiration from art galleries and meeting the makers in their studios, visiting long time suppliers and searching for pieces that have great design qualities.
Because your great taste deserves more than what’s easy to find. And I love every minute doing it.

At Koru Camp, conservation starts with connection.
When children experience the wilderness, they learn to love it, and protect it.

Through hands-on time in the Bushveld, kids learn how ecosystems work, why wildlife matters, and their role as future caretakers of the land.

We’re currently collecting gently used tablets to support learning on the next Koru Camp trip.
A tablet you’re no longer using could help open doors to education, curiosity, and conservation.
