It’s been about a month now since GradEx 111’s opening night 🥹

In the days leading up, students were hard at work setting up their works for the nearly 50,000 people who came by and took it all in.

Couldn’t make it in person? You can still experience the work of this year’s talented grads through our online exhibition, live now at the link in bio.

A year ago, Tanya (.estheliz) was preparing to start her journey in OCAD U’s Creative Writing program. After a year of workshops, creative projects, and exploring new perspectives, we checked back in to hear about the experience and how her writing has evolved along the way.

For Tanya, first year became a chance to grow more confident in her writing while being surrounded by people with completely different styles, ideas, and approaches to storytelling.

One project that stood out was creating a chapbook – a collection of poetry, prose, and other writing that brought together pieces she worked on throughout the year.
Looking ahead, Tanya is excited to dive deeper into the genres she loves most, especially fantasy writing, while continuing to explore other creative passions like music, film, and poetry.
