As I look at the chains that represent my past, my history, my roots (at least known and immediate), I recognize the complex relationship I've had with them. I’ve rejected these chains, felt shame by these chains and fought for these chains, ultimately trapped within their confines. Bound by an unyielding physical law that is impossible to escape.

I've started to understand, even if just in glimpses, what I represent because of these chains. They are not just markers of my personal history. In embracing these links, I don't just piece together my own story; I add my voice to a broader, intergenerational conversation. Recognizing and accepting these chains, I navigate my own metamorphosis while contributing to our collective understanding of growth, heritage, and history.

Thus, I carry and showcase my chains, link by cold, hard link— a visual testament to my place in a continuum, a lineage that is both personal and universal.
