The first time I did stand-up was at an open mic in a dingy bar where I signed up early but got bumped to the end of the list because no one knew or cared who I was. I performed at midnight to two drunk strangers who couldn’t care less about me or my set. I said “Thank you for coming to my Just For Laughs showcase” as a joke.

On Friday I’m gonna say it again but this time… it won’t be a joke.

I don’t have an agent or manager or connections. I don’t have the kind of talent or charisma or experience that a lot of these other comics have. I have social anxiety and stage fright. I’m just an ordinary guy inspired by his extraordinary peers.

Some people inspire others by being extraordinary. But some people inspire others by being ordinary and trying to do extraordinary things anyway. A lot of times they fail… but sometimes they succeed.

To all my fans, friends and lovers: Thank you for believing in me and loving me when I didn’t believe in or love myself. You mean everything to me and I would have nothing without you.

To all my haters: It’s not too late to switch 😘
