Winter dates with you ❄️💨🤍

On November 19th at 11:30pm, my father returned to his creator, suddenly and without warning. Within hours, all of us, his children scattered across different parts of the world, were on the first flights we could find to Lahore, desperate to see him one last time.

It feels as though something inside me has been torn apart, and in this moment, nothing seems enough to put me back together. My father was a man of dignity, principled, fair, steadfast who stood beside us, taught us our worth, and proudly called us his greatest accomplishments.

He brought our family to Canada in hopes of giving us a better future. He emphasized education, encouraged growth, and pushed us always to do better. We would not be who we are today without the sacrifices he made. He was 49 when he immigrated, yet his heart always remained tied to Pakistan, pulling him back home again and again.

He passed away quietly, just as he wished without pain, without struggle. He never wanted to be bedridden. He took pride in caring for his health, walking almost an hour every day, managing his diabetes with discipline and strength.

The one thing he emphasized most was that we, as siblings, remain close, no matter the distance between us. This is a wish I intend to honour for the rest of my life.

As we grieve this immeasurable loss, we humbly ask you to keep us in your prayers. We are deeply grateful to everyone who stood by us during this difficult time, and to all who knew our father and remembered him with love and respect.

Please continue to keep us in your du’as as we learn to navigate life without him.
