Moments from the 2026 Women Innovation Summit ✨

Photos from DMZ's post 01/30/2026

Today, we hosted a gathering focused on AI innovation led by The Honourable Gary Anandasangaree (), Minister of Public Safety, who filled DMZ with Tamil founders, investors and builders shaping Canada’s innovation economy.

We were also joined by The Honourable Evan Solomon (), Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister Responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.

Minister Solomon spoke powerfully about the moment Canada is in, marked by tech acceleration and global uncertainty and why innovation in housing and defence will define our next chapter – two areas where DMZ is deeply focused, and founders have a real opportunity to build for national impact.

Thank you to Minister Anandasangaree and Sen Sachi for convening this conversation in recognition of Tamil Heritage Month. DMZ is proud to continue our work connecting Sri Lankan startups to Canada through initiatives like the GRIT Program, in collaboration with World University Service of Canada and the Tamil Venture Zone, building real pathways for global founders to scale, here.
