Layered materiality was the brief for this hospitality project — we played with leather mats, linen mats, double mats, burl wood, vintage brass, and more to bring the collection to life.

When created specifically for a space, a commissioned work can respond to the home’s architecture, proportions, light, and material palette, while still offering the same conceptual resonance as an existing work. The result is a piece that feels inherently connected to its surroundings, bringing cohesion and a sense of permanence to this finished family home.

M.K. Sadler is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explore emotional landscapes, grief, and queerness through a deeply observational and playful lens. Drawing on influences from her grandmother’s collection of Chinese ink paintings and a love of found materials, she creates richly layered works that transform second-hand objects into narratives of memory, meaning, and renewal.

Raisa Gates is a Filipina American artist based between Arizona and Paris whose work explores the complexities of selfhood and human connection. Centering the body as her foundation, Raisa depicts figures that gather, rest, and exist together. Raisa’s paintings invite viewers to reflect on the universal experience of seeking connection while appreciating solitude. Through meditations on presence and absence, her work reveals the quiet beauty found within our relationships with ourselves and others.
