This was a very full weekend 🌷💗 so grateful to share the space with amazing artists and vendors Wendell G. Taylor ODDJOBs Studio by Brie Lim Heather + Daniel Daam-Rossi Kali Talmon-Longden at our summer open house. A beautiful day with lots of wonderful folks stopping by and checking us out! Can’t wait to do this again in the fall. Sunday I led our intro to Linocut course and another fantastic group of curious people came together to try Linocut (most for the first time since highschool) and they created some great prints in a few hours. So lucky 🍀 thanks all!

A brief educationalish* video on how to use paper scraps in a letterpress studio (and have a bit of fun while you’re at it). Probably this video is longer than most people’s social media attention span but I thought it might be nice to narrate the steps clearly. But keep in mind that this whole process —from setting the type to cleaning up the press afterward— took (at a pretty leisurely pace) about 6ish hours. AND I have also been doing this for a number of years now! Printing forces you to take care and attention even when you’re just printing on “scraps”. Oh, and I usually just give these away to people who come into the shop.

I carved this little stamp while my workshop students were carving theirs this weekend. I love the immediacy of making a stamp, and the simplicity of using a stamp pad for inking. This is stamped in my favourite journal (which we carry in the store by the way!) the MD Midori planner- the paper is beautiful for all writing and I love the way the print is visible from behind on the paper but it’s not bleeding through.

My talented friend and nature photographer recently released his first set of photo prints and is including this amazing piece of authentication with them. I was very happy to print this super detailed design by and see all the teeny bits come out just right!

A card suitable for giving to any daddio in your life. I was super happy with all of the textures that came out on this plate - I make my polymer plates (slide 3) for letterpress printing my cards myself with in our basement 🙃 shoutout to for the best digital drawing brushes too! ✍️

Another one I never got to eat at! But such a good location with the cutest lil side patio, now very much taken over by weeds but the streetcar mural still holding on tightly to the brick. Love this whole connected block in leslieville of two story buildings, okay okay diner was the bookend to bnb fish and chips (rip). Although it’s still there, and closed, it has current neighbours (albeit they are more for evening-fare) that we love and

Did you ever eat here?? What do you think it’s gunna be?? Over/under on how long it will remain vacant??
