Movember and Giving Tuesday

Greetings!  I have participated in  another year of Movember, raising money for men’s health, cancer research and help to raise awareness of men’s mental health.  I am grateful for all the support I have had not only this year but previous years as well.  Over the last 6 years I have raised $6300 for Movember and I am quite proud of that.

If you are still looking to donate to the cause, or are indeed curious, please click the link below.  Admittedly, this Novemember has been a busier one (which I’m not complaining about) but it has meant I haven’t been posting as much as previous years (or did a ‘move goal’ like I did a few years back).  There is still a chance to reach my goal of raising $1000 to Movember and I am halfway there.  Every donation, not only goes to help men’s health, but in return you will receive a donation receipt you can claim on your 2025 income tax.

Thank you all again,

Dave

We’re in the final stretch of Movember. For all those who have been supporting through donations or moral support, I appreciate this immensely.

Today is Giving Tuesday. For the next 24 hours, anyone who donates to this, I will match your donation, to a maximum of $50 to a registered charity of your choice. The reason I do Movember is to help people.

My MoSpace Donation page is in the bio above.

2022: A year in selfies. From birthday kickoff at the Royal York Hotel, to catching COVID-19, to a fun summer, full of adventures to eventually getting Bell’s Palsy and overcoming it, all the while raising $2260 for charity. I finish with a picture of a guitar I’ve always wanted now bought for myself for Christmas.

Let’s bring in 2023 in style and say goodbye to 2022.

Every year at Halloween I usually go out to some form of party or event or do something. Kinda hard to do during a global pandemic and be a responsible adult. I decided to stay put rather than go out, but to make it more interesting than just putting on a costume and saying done, I aged my cosplay portrayal of one of my favourite Star Trek The Next Generation characters, Commander Riker. I also decided to have fun with a 8 week beard as I started Movember again. The first couple of pictures are the ‘alter-ego’ of Riker where he was discovered as a double, of course with a Romulan Ale. I then went forward to Riker’s appearance from the movies and lastly his appearance in Star Trek: Picard (with the help of FaceApp). The last several pictures are some behind the scenes including adding stiffeners in the costume, upgrading the metal piece with dulling spray and sewing in shoulder pads. I’m normal salt & pepper in my beard but i did a layered hair colour to return my beard to how it looked 10 years ago. And at the end, “smooth as a android’s bottom”.
