The 2024 Outside The Box Applications are now open!
The Outside the Box program provides an opportunity for local artists to create works of art on traffic signal boxes across Toronto. Since 2013, over 400 boxes have been transformed across the city!
โก๏ธ Applicants must reside in the City of Toronto.
โก๏ธ Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
โก๏ธ City of Toronto employees are not eligible to apply.

The program creates opportunities for local artists to create works of art on traffic signal boxes across Toronto. Since 2013, over 350 boxes have been hand-painted by local artists, wrapped in designs by local graphic artists, and transformed into extraordinary works of art.
Artists and graphic designers applying to this program are encouraged to consider the context of the local area and the city as a whole.

StreetARToronto's Outside The Box 2022 Applications are still open!
Submission deadline: Monday, April 4, 2022, at 11:59 pm. EST. Link in Bio.
The City of Toronto invites local area artists to submit proposals to create works of art on City traffic signal boxes throughout Toronto. There are over 2,200 traffic signal boxes located across Toronto at signalized intersections.

โIf music be the food of love, play on'
This design is based on providing the illusion of Jazz music and enjoyment to brighten up any street corner. The warm colours and neutral images would appeal to general audiences within the city and suburban areas. The design shows musicians playing jazz instruments and visuals of dancing people.
