Another well-rested family! (Of twins 🤍🤍)

A well-rested baby is often a happier baby because sleep plays a key role in brain development and emotional regulation.

During sleep, your baby’s nervous system has time to recover, process stimulation, and restore balance.

When babies don’t get enough rest, their bodies produce more stress hormones, making them more easily upset and harder to soothe. With consistent, quality sleep, babies tend to have better moods, improved attention, and more calm, connected moments during the day.

Sleep isn’t just rest—it’s a foundation for a thriving, happy little human. Or in this case, humans! 😴

Hold up a minute ✋🏼 You don’t need trendy tools or expensive gadgets to help your baby sleep.

What actually makes a difference? Proper timing, understanding sleep cycles, and setting your child up to fall asleep independently.

Let’s break this down so we can STOP 🛑 sending fear mongering messages to parents.

Sleep is not a luxury. It is important for your infant’s development and wellbeing.

🧠 Brain development: when babies sleep they form crucial neural connections which help support memory consolidation, language acquisition, cognitive development and emotional regulation.

📏Physical growth: Growth hormone is released during sleep which impacts weight gain, muscle development and tissue repair.

🔬Immune function: Infants who sleep well tend to have fewer infections, and a lower risk of inflammatory related conditions.

😴 Emotional & behavioral regulation: Well-rested babies are calmer, more responsive, more engaged and eat better.

🧷 Parental well-being and bonding: When babies sleep better, parents experience less postpartum anxiety and depression. The entire house has better emotional health.

🚼 Lifelong sleep patterns are set early: Sleep patterns formed in the first year often carry into toddlerhood and beyond. Early sleep hygiene promotes better attention, a healthier circadian rhythm and fewer behavior and learning issues later on.
