1 in 4 people in Canada are caregivers.

Caregiving is one of the most meaningful things a person can do. It is also one of the most demanding. Over time, the weight of that responsibility can lead to burnout.

Here are some signs to watch for. If you are experiencing any of these signs, you’re not alone. Our Wellness Services offers a ton of resources and tools for caregivers and families. Explore our Wellness Services Resource Library at SurreyPlace.ca to learn more.

June marks , a time to celebrate and honour the rich histories, cultures, traditions and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples. 🧑

For thousands of years, First Nations, MΓ©tis and Inuit Peoples have lived, cultivated and cared for Turtle Island, what we now call Canada, long before the arrival of European settlers. Each distinct group holds unique histories, languages, cultural practices, deep connections with the land and ways of knowing.

As settlers on Indigenous land, Surrey Place recognizes that honouring Indigenous peoples means more than acknowledgement. It means a lifelong commitment to learning and unlearning, reconciliation and action.

We remain committed to increasing Indigenous inclusion and maintaining ongoing, meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities to ensure our services are culturally safe and appropriate.

Neurodiversity challenges the idea that there is one right way to think, learn and experience the world. Every neurodivergent person has unique strengths, perspectives and ways of navigating life.

When we focus on what someone can do rather than what they cannot, we create space for people to thrive on their own terms.
