A primary focus of the new departmental plan is the overhaul of the Express Entry system. IRCC is currently conducting a consultation phase to gather feedback on proposed structural changes, which aim to better align candidate selection with evolving economic priorities and labour market demands.

David Garson was recently quoted in a CTV News article about a significant new U.S. immigration policy that could affect Canadians living in the United States.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has announced that most foreigners on temporary visas must now apply for green cards through consular services in their home countries - rather than from within the U.S. For Canadians, that means going through the U.S. consulate in Montreal.
There are still many open questions, including what exceptions will apply and how much discretion immigration officials will have in applying the policy.
