If there was one moment that Indian Cricket and it's fans could point in history as being the most memorable and impactful, it would be hard to argue against that moment being when the humble Indian cricket team lead by the mercurial all-rounder Kapil Dev defeated the Calypso King's in the 1983 ODI cricket world cup.

After labourisly getting to 183 in their alloted 60 overs, no one would have given the Indian team a realistic chance of defending let alone defeating a West Indian team that is widely considered as the most ferocious cricket team to ever be assembled. However, as history would have it, India beat West Indies to lift their first Cricket World Cup and thereby kicking off a craze and obsession that sees no signs of slowing down.
