Happy Friday! 🤗We are excited that our latest journal cover design has been published In Nature Biomedical Engineering! 🎉🎉Working with the amazing research teams from MIT and Harvard, we produced both the accompanying illustrations for the article and the cover. The research features a implantable, soft-tissue robotic sleeve that recapitulates aortic stenosis. Read about the story in the feature From Cover to Cover blog or at nature.com/natbiomedeng/volumes/6/issues/10

🔬In our next post we will share more progress work. Stay tuned!

We want to share another anatomy cover we did a while back 👉👉SWIPE to find out what texture inspiration we used

10/11/2021

Hi 👋, we are excited to share our new work with you. Over this summer, our team was tasked with creating cover art for a series of anatomy contents. We had a chance to explore many different textures: from bones to muscles to neuroanatomy. Here is a snippet of the fallopian tube. Can you identify all the sections of a fallopian tube?

We are excited to share with you one of the many snippets we worked on in the past few months! Over the summer, our team was tasked with creating cover art for a series of anatomy contents. We had a chance to explore many different textures - from bone to muscles to more complex ones. Here is an unlabelled version of the fallopian tube. Do you know what each section is called?

As medical illustrators, we often turn to our local grocery store for anatomy texture references. Some are really unexpected finds! When we look at textures, we break them down into individual properties such as colour, shape, reflectance, etc. We call these "visual analogies👀". What other unexpected texture twins have you seen before?
