I painted this piece last year after visiting a dear childhood friend Trechelle, who was battling cancer. Seeing her and the attitude she had to keep fighting the cancer that started as breast cancer and had spread elsewhere, made me realize how precious life and friendship truly are. It also reminded me of how many dear people in my own life that have fought this same battle, most have won, but some have not.

I called this piece Good Fight in honor of my friends, loved ones, and everyone else who has fought this horrific disease.

I am posting this piece today as loving tribute to Trechelle. Unfortunately, she lost her battle last week after many years, but she never lost her ability to love and laugh through all of the struggle. We gathered today in Dallas as friends who have known each other for more than 50 years to celebrate Trechelle's life and to say goodbye to this incredible person who made us all better people by knowing her. There was no one that could make you laugh like she could, and she kept us smiling up to the end, and her laugh will reverberate in our memories every time we think of her.

Here's another new piece from the studio - "Providence" is a departure from my usual monochromatic palette. Vibrant spring hues of blues, greens, and grays intertwine.

"Don't Count On It" challenges perceptions and expectations. It's a reflection on the unpredictability of life's twists and turns.
