Are you an artist passionate about climate justice, community, and storytelling?
Join us to co-create Earth Hub – Solidar(c)ity, a community-led public art initiative shaping climate decolonial futures through art.
The Earth Hub- Solidar(c)ity Project is reimagining the ground floor of the Earth Science Centre at the University of Toronto, in a collaboration between Indigenous people, settlers, artists, students, faculty, and community partners.
This project seeks to envision a new relationship with the city, the land, and each other. By revisiting histories and reconnecting with cultural values and ancient stories, it aims to foster learning and healing. Through art, storytelling, book readings, and collaborative discussions, supported by U of T departments and external knowledge holders, the creative process has guided the formation of a collective vision. This vision will be expressed by transforming the entire interior space of a U of T building, covering walls, ceilings, floors, pillars, and more. Central to the project’s goal is the effort to dispel stereotypes and nurture a deeper understanding between communities for a just decolonial future.
