Our pre-orders have closed but of course we are making lots more for walk-in. Here are the details again:

We haven't done a popup outside of a market in a long time, so we aren't sure what the turnout will be like. We don't expect foot traffic like market events, but it's still hard to guess how many to make 😅 I'll try to keep our stories updated that night with what's left!

We're excited to share our upcoming popup on Friday, September 19!! Join us for a fun cafe night with good drinks and our fresh daifuku mochi. We put together a seasonal menu for the event:

You can pre-order at a discount on our website for pickup. Alternatively, just show up and purchase at the cafe, we'll have a table set up 🎉. We just switched website platforms, so bare with us if there are any hiccups!

For drinks, you can get anything from decaf coffee to lattes to teas. They will have a pumpkin spice latte (seasonal). For more decaf, you can also get drinks like hot chocolate and yuzu fizz. You can't go wrong with anything from them 😋

We first met Jo & Ryan at a market, and loved their gourmet tarts. I'm so proud of them for opening a cafe. They serve French-Japanese inspired desserts, specialty coffee and focus on quality seasonal ingredients. We hope you enjoy their cafe just as much as we do, and hope to see you there soon!

Alien mochi from Toy Story! 🛸 I got an opportunity to recreate the "alien dumplings" from Tokyo's Disneyland for a birthday party catering 💚 inside is fresh mango, a perfect wrapup to the peak of mango season.

I saw how artsy the reflection in the pan was when I was putting the mochis together - I love how they turned out!!

Btw, sorry that there hasn't been as many popup sales lately - it's been hard to balance work, life, and chubbi rice 🙏 we'll do a sale some time in June though!

Our mochis have been to wedding venues, birthdays, and cafes - last week they visited an office! 4 years ago when I started chubbi rice, I wouldn't have imagined how versatile my service would become. Also it just hit me that 2021 was 4 years ago 😭 WHAT.

So amazed by your enthusiasm of us coming back!! Thanks everyone for a successful first sale :) we will be rotating to downtown pickup next month. I hope everyone had a good weekend!💙
