Most approved MS therapies are designed to modulate or suppress the immune system.

But the immune system may not be the whole story.

For decades, MS treatment has largely focused on reducing immune-driven attacks. Quantum BioPharma
$QNTM
is exploring a different scientific question: whether MS also involves neurodegenerative mechanisms tied directly to myelin damage.

This is the demyelination pathway.

Lucid-MS, also known as LUCID-21-302, is being developed as a non-immunomodulatory investigational new chemical entity designed to target PAD2 an enzyme involved in abnormal myelin protein citrullination, a process believed to increase myelin vulnerability in MS.

In preclinical animal models, Lucid-MS demonstrated signals supporting further research into this mechanism.

Rather than targeting the immune system, Lucid-MS is focused on the biology of demyelination itself.

A different mechanism. A different pathway. A different approach to MS research. No Drugs currently on the market that are approved do what Lucid-MS is designed to do.

Lucid-MS is a Investigational drug candidate. Not approved by the FDA or Health Canada. Currently in clinical development.

Quantum BioPharma recently announced a key midpoint milestone in its separate collaborative imaging study with Massachusetts General Hospital, centered on [¹⁸F]3F4AP PET imaging to help assess demyelination in Multiple Sclerosis.

While this study is separate from Lucid-MS trials, we believe this type of imaging research could one day help support the broader scientific understanding of how demyelination is measured and tracked in MS research.

Lucid-MS has completed prior Phase 1 clinical development, and Quantum BioPharma has submitted an IND application to the FDA for a Phase 2 clinical trial.

As Quantum BioPharma’s lead investigational candidate, Lucid-MS was designed to target neurodegenerative pathways linked to the citrullination cascade, representing a differentiated scientific approach from traditional immunomodulatory therapies.

Quantum BioPharma is proud to support and help raise awareness for those living with Multiple Sclerosis.

“Living with MS can be unpredictable. One moment I have energy and the next I’m extremely fatigued. MS has taught me to listen to my body, set boundaries, and be aware of my stress levels. I always try to enjoy the present moment because you never know what tomorrow might bring.

I was living alone in a new city when I started experiencing symptoms. I didn’t have a family doctor at the time, so I was going to different walk-in clinics, and nobody could figure out what was going on. After multiple tests, hospital visits, and several MRIs, I was officially diagnosed with MS. It was heavy news to hear, especially without my family nearby.

I got involved with MS Walk because there are others in my community who experience similar challenges, but we don’t always share what we’re going through. Living with an invisible disability is a struggle. MS is part of my story and it’s important to me to spread awareness.

My family and friends have helped me talk openly about my diagnosis, without feeling like I have to hide it. It brings me peace of mind to know we’re raising awareness and funds for MS research to hopefully find a cure for this disease.

MS affects so many Canadians, and I want people to know they aren’t alone in their journey. My favourite part of MS Walk is being surrounded by others who understand what it’s like to live with MS—that sense of connection is everything.”

Stories like Diana Harrington’s remind us why MS awareness matters.

Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and often a caregiver offering daily love, patience, and support.

Quantum BioPharma is honoured to help raise awareness for the Multiple Sclerosis community. Thank you to the National MS Society for sharing Diana’s story and highlighting the strength of those living with MS and the families who stand beside them.

Quantum Biopharma ($QNTM) submitted its IND application to the FDA for a Phase 2 trial of Lucid-MS.

Here's why this matters:
✅ First-in-class, non-immunomodulatory approach — targeting actual nerve damage, not just the immune system

✅ Favorable safety profile established in Phase 1 trials ✅ Collaborating with Massachusetts General Hospital on a PET biomarker to directly measure myelin changes

Most MS treatments compete in the same immune-modulating lane. Lucid-MS is in a different race entirely. 🧬

Thank you for bringing these stories to Parliament Hill. Behind every statistic is a family that has quietly reshaped their entire world around this disease. That truth deserves to be heard at every level. 💙

We’re on Parliament Hill for our annual Day on the Hill event, where we’re raising awareness about MS and advocating for policy changes that will help create a stronger future for Canadians living with MS and their families.

Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world and it’s crucial for the federal government to hear what life with MS looks like for Canadians. Our MS Canada team and community members are meeting with Members of Parliament, Senators, and key staff to share stories about challenges Canadians affected by MS face.

On Wednesday, May 6, we’ll be wearing red carnations in support of the MS community. You can join us for our Digital Carnation Pinning by downloading our carnation graphic and sharing it on your social media on Wednesday to help spread awareness.

Remember to tag us (and wait until May 6 to share). Download the graphic here: bit.ly/4ufsyHf
