π π«Άπ»ππ«Άπ» Another July 18 and I would say this is my favorite in a long while. Spent Saturday by the pool, Sunday at a campfire and in the city, and the entire two weeks eating lots of yummy foods and taking lots of photographs. Shoutout to who made me my dream cake after I sent her some ideas of what I had in mind (inside Freshland Supermarket in Scarborough)
The best way I know how to process the past couple years is to write. About the story of a girl who lost it all but found peace behind the phone. Wasted time, lost love, faded memories of a not-in-the-moment lifeβ¦ nobody warns you about what happens when you are broken hearted in a world that is breaking apart. Itβs a cliche story, and so it goes.
When you find the right environment, the right people, the right love, the right purpose, every moment is a moment you feel alive. You no longer have to use social media to validate your worth. To gain the weight of past mistakes but still fall down small rabbit holes. To live on begged and borrowed time.
People change for better or worse through life. So grateful to those who are watching this journey as I grow upβ¦ over which I thought I would have more anxiety. I hope the next year will be good and Iβm excited and scared. As ever.

A lot of in betweens lately... spontaneity vs routine, naivetΓ© vs experience, black vs white, oversharing vs privacy, old vs new. Thereβs also been a lot of friction and slow progress but I think the best way to feel on track is to write and think and talk about it. Skincare chat today with this kitty π± Many of us can raise our hands to having tried all sorts of skin products out there. If you found something that works for you, awesome. If not, that's okay because most times it's not your fault. This fact is one I have struggled to understand and accept before realizing that diet and especially hormones affect our skin so greatly. Sometimes anti-inflammatory foods such as artificial sugar, spices, and even nuts and seeds can trigger redness and swelling (puffiness). And foods high in fats such as cheese, milk, avocado, oil, etc can create hormonal imbalance. Healing comes in many forms but my story has involved eating clean most days and using some sort of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid for a while. For the past couple weeks, I've added this vegan rice milk moisturizing toner from Goodal. Good things take time. Happy Friday

pan-roasted garlic potatoes in my favorite pink pan π
4 medium potatoes
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp each salt & pepp
2 tbp minced garlic
2 tbp minced parsley
β
cut up potatoes into small pieces. toss into bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper, minced garlic, parsley. cook on skillet over medium heat for 25min until golden brown and tender, stir occasionally.
