CW: Police brutality

Cyclist: “What did I do wrong?”
Police: “You didn’t stop”

That’s supposedly what prompted 4 officers to violently tackle a cyclist this week.

We’re not saying cyclists don’t need to follow the rules. But why is this level of force being used over a simple traffic violation?

Toronto police have shown they think they’re above the law. We need public pressure to ensure police are held accountable for their harmful actions.

Did you hear us on CBC Metro Morning? 📻

Conservatives love to complain about the mess they created, and they don’t even offer solutions.

They cut services and left the city in massive debt.
Gutted transit and increased fares.
And signed bad garbage and snow clearing deals that cost more for less.

We know what conservative leadership looks like in this city. It’s what created the affordability crisis we’re dealing with now.

Toronto’s election is coming this October.
Conservatives spent over a decade making cuts to public services. It’s going to take more than 2 and a half years to clean up the mess.

We’re working hard to make sure we keep moving forward, not back. Get involved at progresstoronto.ca

Ford taking over the TTC? 😡🤢
Volunteers are pushing back 😍💪

Ever since we heard Doug was trying to control the TTC, volunteers have been out talking to transit riders all across Toronto.

The plan? If we can get enough transit users to tell their provincial rep to speak up, we can put enough pressure on Ford and stop the takeover.

Ford’s approval rating is at a record low. He’s backed down to pressure before on his private jet and the Greenbelt. Now is the time to act.

That’s where you come in! We need more volunteers to speak with people at TTC stations. We have shifts all across Toronto—check them: https://www.progresstoronto.ca/volunteer-2026

Doug was wrong again.

He said speed cameras don’t slow people down. New data shows they made our streets safer.

Do you know about Parkside Drive?
It sits right beside High Park, where thousands of families walk with their kids. But it’s also one of Canada’s most dangerous streets due to speeding.

Speed cameras have shown to be one of the best options to make Parkside safer. Doug’s ban puts lives at risk.

It’s time for Ford to reverse his ban on speed cameras. Tell your MPP to speak up by using our petition tool: https://www.progresstoronto.ca/petition-protect-kids-keep-speed-cameras

Using our tax dollars to buy a private jet. Destroying our schools and healthcare. Handing Ontario Place over to a private spa. Taking over the TTC. Failing to address affordability. This is what Ford has been doing at Queen’s Park.

Enough is enough.

Ford’s approval is plummeting. We’re organizing against him, and it’s working. Help us continue to fight Ford and his harmful agenda. Add your name to Stop Ford: https://www.progresstoronto.ca/stopford

All talk. No action.
Brad Bradford will say anything to get elected 🩴

In 2023, Brad supported speed cameras. Then he opposed them.

In 2020, he voted to defund the police. Now he wants more cops.

Brad Bradford continues to campaign on issues he himself has publicly opposed. Why should we trust his word as mayor?

Leading up to the city election this October, Progress Toronto will be working hard to expose the harmful records of conservatives like Brad. But we need people like you to get involved.

Add your name at our link in bio for next steps.

Ford really thought Toronto would just let this happen. The fight isn’t over.

May 14: Doug Ford’s government votes to take control of the TTC, with power to increase fares and cancel routes.

May 20: Toronto City Council requests the Province to restore transit funding previously gutted by Ford and for the City to retain control over the TTC.

Ford caved to public pressure with his private jet. If enough people contact their MPP, we can make the Conservative government reverse this decision too.

Over 8,000 people have signed our petition. But we need thousands more. Sign here: https://www.progresstoronto.ca/tell-ford-hands-off-ttc
