I had the pleasure of speaking with many dental professionals on Sunday about the importance of taking care of their financial health.
Our conversations focused on retirement savings, financial planning, and risk management, particularly the need to protect their greatest asset: their ability to earn an income.
Dental professionals, like many healthcare providers, dedicate their time and energy to caring for others. As a result, their own financial planning can sometimes take a back seat. The event was a valuable opportunity to remind them that certain areas of their financial lives can be outsourced to trusted professionals, allowing them to focus on what they do best.
A special thank you to Humania Insurance for sponsoring a door prize for the event participants.

Sometimes life gives you a second chance at the moments you thought you missed. ❤️
What once felt like a challenge has become a beautiful reminder to slow down, be present, and cherish the little things. Watching him grow, laugh, and discover the world has been its own kind of magic. ✨
For all special needs moms for whom motherhood is not what they expected, think of it as an opportunity to have your kids around for longer. More time to be present. 💙
“My kid takes longer to ‘grow up’. Secretly, that is sort of awesome.” — Rebecca Smith Masterson
To every mom navigating the do-over: you’re not alone.

Special needs kids hear you. They feel your encouragement. They notice when you believe in them, even when they don’t believe in themselves yet.
Choose to inspire confidence and see your belief move mountains. ❤️
What’s one thing that helps you feel more prepared for school meetings?
Special needs school advocacy is more than meetings. It’s preparation, emotions, follow-up, and a lot of invisible work. If you’re in this season, I hope you remember that your voice matters.
Your child is lucky to have you in their corner.

With the cost of living continuing to rise, families are looking for practical ways to make their money go further.
I help families explore tax-saving strategies and registered plans that can support a variety of needs—from education and retirement to long-term financial security and future care.
If you’re self-employed, a gig worker, or a contractor, you may also be missing out on disability coverage typically included in employer benefits plans.
Your ability to earn an income and support your family is one of your most valuable assets. Disability and critical illness coverage can help protect that income if an illness or injury prevents you from working.
These coverages may feel expensive, but the financial impact of being unable to work, requiring specialized healthcare, or needing 24/7 care can be far greater.
I’m excited to speak about these important topics at the Beyond the Chair Symposium and share practical strategies to help families plan, protect their income, and move forward with greater confidence.
If you’re wondering whether your current financial plan and coverage are keeping up with your family’s needs, let’s connect.
If you know, you know. 😅 Special needs parenting comes with a whole vocabulary of its own. And sometimes, we just need understanding, not unsolicited advice. ❤️
Small wins special needs parents will understand.
Special needs parenting often means celebrating progress that other people might not even notice. A new word, a calmer moment, one more minute of focus, one less prompt, these all count. These moments might look small to other people.
But you know what they really are: progress!
What’s one small win your family had this week?
If you had one of these moments this week, I hope you let yourself celebrate it.
As the new school year starts, perhaps like me, you also feel the familiar anxiety bubbling up. So, here’s your reminder to take deep breaths, get rest and stay optimistic.
You don’t need to solve for the whole year now, one small step at a time is good. And even though it involves a sometimes-bumpy transition, the school routine is good for them, mostly. 🙂
Above all, know that you are allowed to rest. You don’t have to earn it. Be kind to yourself because remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
My self-care is a walk in the ravine where I all I can see are trees, anywhere I look. What is your self-care?
Every child is different. ❤️
Some children may have higher support needs and may not be able to manage these tasks.
And that’s okay.
Getting through the day is a win, too.
We’re all on our own journeys. I’m sharing what works for our family in case it helps yours.
