This solid piece made by the Bombay Company came to me from a client who wanted it updated so he could put it under his flat screen TV.
This beauty lives on.

f you’ve followed me for any period of time you know how much I love a solid painted white piece of furniture. It’s quintessentially classic, calming and clean looking … especially for a bedroom. Updating the hardware is always a good choice giving the piece a complete new look.
Available for anyone interested.

Love me a good before and after. The power of paint still amazes me every day.

I’ve been on the hunt for a dining room cabinet at the cottage for a few years now. I knew eventually the perfect one would show up….And it did. It was love at first sight and I knew my vision for what I wanted was only a restoration away. It did not disappoint!

This was so much fun….I finally got to play with a piece and do something outside the box. Way outside the box. I’ve been waiting for the perfect piece of furniture that would lend itself to this kind of whimsy. Inspired and encourage by the wonderful I proceeded. And that’s where it is now. Staged perfectly in a shop that welcomes colour and fancifulness. Thank you so much Diana and Gord for indulging me. You can find this piece for sale at

I haven’t worked on a piece just for sh*ts and giggles in so long I’d almost forgotten what it’s like to do exactly what ‘I want’ ….so this was fun for me. So many of my jobs are customs -which I love - but it’s nice to work on something that has no restrictions or deadlines.
I found this ‘set’ a while ago and what drew me to it first was the fact that it was made by the Chelsey Furniture Co which speaks to the quality and age and second the style. I love the self hardware and the 4 very deep drawers.
I wish I had a spot for this unique custom quality piece but I don’t. So… it’s for sale if anyone’s interested.
32” wide
18” deep
42.5” high

My sister found this little cutie on FB and wasn’t even sure if I’d be interested in it. First off, it’s Kroehler ❤️ and second I could see past all the imperfections from a lifetime of wear.
Once it was stripped and sanded to reveal its natural grain there was no going back. This would be the most gorgeous bar but I’m choosing to use it at the cottage to store all the gkids games and toys..where it can enjoy another lifetime of memories.

This solid old girl needed a makeover and new wardrobe. She fit the bill as far as size and storage but got lost in the design and sturdiness aspect. Painting, staining, securing and adding new hardware has given this piece new life and prettier outlook.

This Pottery Barn for Kids bunk bed was used lovingly for 15 years by my clients friend. She had 2 boys who were heading off to university and reluctantly realized it was time to break the bed down and pass it along. That’s where I come in. After 15 years of 2 boys using it, it was in desperate need of a refresh. My friend’s little guy had just turned 2 and was getting ready to move from his crib into a big boy bed. What a great gift for her to receive this bed which already held so many memories onto a new generation of memory making. We decided to paint it Silver Satin by BM, lightening it up and making it look brand new. Once this little guy has outgrown it she too plans to pass it along to someone who can use it. Love this.

Three things. I love working on old furniture and I love working on furniture that belongs to a family member. My SIL ‘acquired’ this 4 drawer OLD dresser and was hoping to sand and restain it…..But its history didn’t allow for this process. It’s really the perfect size , providing lots of additional storage and adds so much character but, whoever made this - I’m assuming it was handmade - used whatever wood and wood pieces available to them. I could also tell that it had been ‘repaired’ or ‘remade’ over the years. Painting and distressing it seems like a viable option. There was no point in trying to modernize a piece like this, it’s old, it’ll always be old so by respecting that the process we chose has worked. It’s going in her cottage so it now has that perfect balance of beachy and antique she was looking for. Oh and the third thing….I continue to love what I do!
