✨ BIG NEWS FROM COLOURS IN CONTACT ✨

We’re evolving, expanding, and creating even more ways for you to move, learn, connect, and play with us this summer! 🎉💜

🌈 First of all, what is Colours in Contact?

We’re a community of movers, creators, and explorers using partnered movement as a way to learn about ourselves, spark creativity, and uncover new possibilities. Through movement research and embodied storytelling, we learn from one another while expanding how we move, communicate, and create.

And now… we’re growing! 🚀

Here’s what’s new:

🎉 More classes! We’re now offering a variety of 75-minute movement exploration classes on Thursdays and Saturdays!

✨ Expect creativity, partnering, storytelling, play, body awareness, improvisation, and lots of opportunities to grow through movement!

💜 Wednesdays remain our main time to come together through a movement jam and community night.

☀️ Sunday park jams are moving to every other week for the summer, creating space for intentional gatherings filled with movement, connection, food, and sunshine. Our next Sunday gathering is June 14.

🎉 And finally… we have an online booking system! You can now register for classes, jams, series, and special events all in one place, plus access some sweet new class pass and combo deals 👏

We’re incredibly excited about this next chapter and all the possibilities it opens up for learning, creativity, community, and connection!! 🤸‍♀️

We don’t often share our community moments here - they’re most often posted in our stories - but this was a beautiful one to share from after the Wednesday jam.

One of the things we love most about this space is how deeply it is co-created. Every person who comes through the door contributes something unique, and together we create an environment of play, connection, creativity, and care.

Thank you to everyone who helps shape this community week after week 💜

✨ Three learning series complete, and what a journey it’s been!

Over the past five weeks, we’ve watched people learn to share weight, find confidence upside down, discover new ways of listening through touch, and become more playful, curious, and creative in their movement.

We’re so proud of everyone who showed up week after week to explore, experiment, take risks, and grow. It’s been a joy witnessing so much learning, laughter, and discovery along the way. A special thanks to Deep and Runa for leading their first beginner contact improv series 👏💜

And now, our community has even more movement tinkerers, creative problem-solvers, and curious explorers! 🤸‍♀️

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, there are two great opportunities coming up:

✨ Wednesday Jam - June 3
A welcoming space to move, play, observe, connect, and explore at your own pace.

6:30-9 pm • Dovercourt House

✨ Leaning Into Contact Series - Starting June 8
Our 5-week intro to contact improv series, focusing on getting familiar with partnered movement, touch and embodied communication.

5 Mondays from 7-9:30 pm • Kensington Market

Come see what all the excitement is about! We’d love to move with you 🙌

What an incredible day at STREETCON! ☀️💜

We spent the afternoon climbing boulders, balancing on railings, scrambling over logs, exploring sculptures, hanging from trees, and finding creative pathways across benches, stones, and ramps.

It felt like we were kids again - curious, playful, and absorbed in the moment. There was laughter, encouragement, creativity, and willingness to try things we might normally overlook.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this adventure. We left with tired bodies, happy hearts, and a new appreciation for the creative possibilities that exists all around us ✨

Until next time, keep playing 🤸‍♀️

🌆 PARKOUR FOR DANCERS 🌳

Join Colours in Contact for a special one-time-only event: STREETCON!

This Sunday, we’re taking contact improv out of the studio and into the city for an afternoon of movement, play, and urban exploration. Think contact improv meets parkour-inspired curiosity - climbing, balancing, rolling, hanging, and discovering new ways to interact with the spaces and the other movers around us.

Here’s how it’ll work:

✨ Meet at 2:30 pm at the High Park gates on Bloor
✨ We’ll share some pointers on how to safely and creatively use the environment as a playground
✨ Our adventure begins at 3 pm
✨ We’ll wrap up around 5 pm

Pack light, bring a water bottle, and dress for the (beautiful!) weather ☀️ We’ll have a wagon for belongings and a speaker to soundtrack our journey.

This is an invitation to see familiar spaces differently, challenge your movement habits, and rediscover the joy of play. Whether you’re a seasoned mover or simply curious, come climb, balance, explore, and create with us!

💜 All levels welcome. No previous contact improv or parkour experience necessary - just bring your curiosity.

🔗 Registration is open now. Head to the link in our bio to sign up!
