How is a ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ž๐ž ๐๐„๐„๐‘+ ๐ฆ๐ž๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  different from our traditional Peer Support groups? It's led by a PROFESSIONAL - who is also a peer! These are people with a wellness challenge themselves, people who have "walked a mile in your shoes".

Just like all of our FREE Peer support meetings, a ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ž๐ž ๐๐„๐„๐‘+ ๐ฆ๐ž๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  allows you to get off your chest what is bothering you, and for you to learn from others what has worked for them.

Yet, in a ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ž๐ž ๐๐„๐„๐‘+ ๐ฆ๐ž๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  (because it is facilitated by a Therapist or Therapist in training) you can get real-world suggestions about what might work for you!

In Redbirdโ€™s educational video, How Depression Changes your Perspective, our associates explore strategies that can help you get a handle on these common depression thoughts, and find your way out to a more true, more hopeful reality. The beautiful ripple of understanding whatโ€™s going on inside of us, can help us start to choose connection over isolation, begin feeling gratitude again, get back our ability to concentrate, and restore the joy of being present, compassionate to ourselves and others.

Depression can narrow our perspective, making it easier to get stuck in painful thoughts. It can place blinders on our thinking, causing fears and uncertainties to feel larger than they really are.

What if, instead of asking,
"What if something bad happens?"
we might ask,
"Even if something bad happens, can I trust myself to handle it?"

This shift doesn't ignore challenges or pretend everything will be easy. Rather, it reminds us that we are often more resilient than we think.

There are so many ways to build that resilience.

A new week doesnโ€™t ask you to rush into itโ€”it invites you to arrive in it.

Before you get carried away by the pace of everything ahead, take a moment to notice where you are right now. Your breath. Your body. The simple fact is that this moment is already here.

Mindfulness isnโ€™t about clearing your mindโ€”itโ€™s about gently coming back to it, again and again, without judgment.

Today, you might try:
โ€ข Pausing before you respond
โ€ข Noticing when your shoulders tense and softening them
โ€ข Taking one breath that you actually feel
