Toronto Northern Lights

TNL is saddened to have lost one of our originals this past week. Bob Gibson was a TNL legend. A mainstay in the tenor section, and one of the drivers of the spirit and culture of the chorus. His resume is beyond impressive:

4x District Quartet Champion
1x District Seniors Quartet Champion
2x International Seniors Champion
3x International Chorus Champion
Plus countless other top five finishes with the Dukes of Harmony and TNL.

He is also was involved in a revolutionary approach to performance that was introduced in the early 2000s (when TNL was having a little fun behind the scenes at International).

We'll miss you Bobby. We'll raise the chalice in your honour.

Wowowow! Huge congratulations to all the fantastic quartets and choruses at the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Convention in St. Louis this weekend - every year it gets better and better! The dedication and preparation that every singer that crossed the stage displayed was clear.

Special congratulations to GQ for their stunning set and history-making win in the quartet contest and to Ambassadors of Harmony for taking the gold in the chorus contest!

Also shoutout to Ontario's own, The 'Loo-Wops for their performance in the Next Generation Varsity Quartet Contest and for representing our nation on Canada Day by singing our national anthem to a packed international audience - we and all of the district are so proud of you and your achievements!

Our June 13th show, There's No Place Like Home, was filled with great moments and memories! Thank you to our wonderful volunteers as well as the support staff at the beautiful Terminal Theatre for helping to make the evening a success.
