The construction industry in Canada is changing — and fast.
What worked over the past decade is no longer guaranteed to work today. Rising costs, financing challenges, and shifting demand are reshaping how projects move forward.
So what does the future look like?
Our latest blog breaks it down:
✔ More midrise and community-focused housing
✔ Increased adoption of modular construction
✔ Greater use of technology and AI
✔ A stronger focus on rental housing
The future of construction isn’t just about building more — it’s about building smarter.

Is the HST Rebate Starting to Make a Difference? 🇨🇦🏗️
There are early signs of improvement in Ontario’s housing market — especially in low-rise homes.
With up to $130,000 in HST relief, more buyers are stepping back into the market, and sales numbers are starting to reflect that.
But condos? Still struggling.
The reality is that the challenges run deeper than incentives. Rising construction costs and falling condo values mean many projects simply don’t make financial sense right now.
At the same time, uncertainty around how the federal rebate will be fully implemented is holding back buyers, builders, and lenders.
The opportunity is there — but the industry needs clarity and confidence to move forward.

Is Build Canada Homes really delivering housing? 🇨🇦🏗️
There’s no doubt housing has become a major priority in Canada — and Build Canada Homes is a big part of that strategy.
We’re seeing progress:
✔ projects identified
✔ funding rolling out
✔ partnerships forming
✔ modular construction gaining attention
But the real question is simple:
Are homes actually getting built?
Some estimates suggest around 26,000 units over the next five years — a step forward, but still far from what’s needed.
At the end of the day, the industry isn’t measured by announcements.
It’s measured by:
🏗️ projects breaking ground
🏗️ cranes in the sky
🏗️ homes being delivered
The foundation is being set.
Now it’s about ex*****on.
💬 What do you think — are we moving fast enough?

Is a Construction Employment Crisis Emerging? 🏗️
Across the industry, the conversation is shifting.
It’s no longer just about the economy — it’s about jobs.
With condo projects slowing down, many in construction are already feeling the impact:
projects delayed, fewer opportunities, and increasing pressure across trades and businesses.
There are warnings that up to 100,000 construction-related jobs could be at risk if housing activity doesn’t pick back up.
And the reality is — Canada still needs housing.
But many projects simply aren’t financially viable to build right now.
Other sectors like infrastructure, transit, rental housing, and industrial development are helping — but residential construction is going through a tough cycle.
Every delayed project means fewer homes and fewer jobs.
The focus now is clear:
how do we get building again?
💬 What are you seeing in your market?

Is Canada Finally Getting Serious About Housing? 🇨🇦🏗️
There’s a big shift happening in the housing conversation right now.
With new federal initiatives focused on:
• reducing development costs
• supporting modular construction
• expanding rental housing
• speeding up approvals
…it feels like the industry is finally being heard.
The reality is simple:
Housing demand has never been the issue.
The challenge has always been making projects financially viable.
Now, with programs like Build Canada Homes, HST relief, and major investments in prefab and modular construction, we may be entering a new phase.
But the real test is still ahead 👇
Will we actually see more projects moving forward?
More cranes. More jobsites. More homes.
We’ll be watching closely.

Is it time to be honest about the state of construction?
There’s been a lot of discussion this week around whether Canada has entered a recession.
But from what we’re seeing on the ground, many in the construction industry are already feeling it.
Projects are slowing. Financing is tighter. Developers are pausing. Trades are competing harder than ever.
The reality is — something has changed.
Instead of ignoring it, we need to start having real conversations about:
• housing supply
• development costs
• approval timelines
• financing challenges
Because we can’t fix what we don’t acknowledge.

Why Collaboration Beats Conflict in Construction 🏗️
Construction projects don’t fail because people don’t work hard — they fail because teams aren’t aligned.
When developers and builders operate in silos, it leads to:
❌ delays
❌ cost overruns
❌ frustration across the board
But when collaboration is prioritized early, everything changes.
In our latest blog, we explore how better communication, planning, and alignment can significantly improve project outcomes.
Because in today’s market, collaboration isn’t just a “nice to have” — it’s essential.

The Housing Outlook in Canada 🏢
Rental housing is quickly becoming a major focus across the industry.
As the condo market adjusts, more developers and investors are turning toward long-term rental projects — especially those that can be built faster and more efficiently.
We’re seeing increased interest in:
• midrise rental buildings
• stacked towns
• infill projects
• mixed-use communities
The reality is simple:
Canada still needs housing — but how we deliver it is evolving.
The next phase of development may look very different from the high-rise condo boom of the past.

The Housing Outlook in Canada 🏗️
Construction costs are still one of the biggest factors shaping the future of housing.
From labour and materials to financing, taxes, and approvals — the cost to build has changed significantly over the past few years.
The issue isn’t just demand.
It’s making projects viable so they can actually get built.
That’s why the industry is shifting toward:
• midrise housing
• modular construction
• faster timelines
• rental-focused projects
• smarter, more efficient systems
The future of housing will depend on innovation and better collaboration across the industry.
