What makes a conference experience truly memorable? And when 40,000 people attend a conference, how can you stand out as a vendor?

In a recent study, we helped a client answer these questions by interviewing attendees at events where the company had exhibited.

We spoke with attendees about:

- Why they attended
- How they prepared
- How long they stayed, and how they spent their time (one interviewee mostly caught up on Netflix…)
- Which vendor booths delivered standout experiences
- Their impressions of our client’s booth

From motivations and behaviors to standout booth experiences, we uncovered what truly differentiates.

Now our client is rethinking how they show up at events, with a sharper, more intentional approach grounded in real customer insight.

The fastest way to ruin a good research project is to start with the wrong method.

We see it all the time. Teams want to jump right into a survey, when what they really need is a conversation. But doing so results in a lot of data and NOT much direction.

After a summer of remote work, conflicting vacation schedules, and pretending we were “totally fine” with all our virtual meetings, the HelloInfo team finally reunited in person.

There was laughter. There was lunch. There was actual eye contact. We even managed to get some work done (between champagne toasts and bites of ice cream)! Turns out, productivity increases immensely when you’re within arm’s reach of snacks and friends.

Grateful for this crew and the kind of day that reminds you why you love working with humans like these. Here’s to more reunions, less “You’re on mute,” and many more shared meals!

Does the Rippling/Deel lawsuit have you concerned about your CI practices?

Yesterday, an affadavit of a Rippling employee was released, in which they testified that they were working as a spy for Rippling's competitor, Deel.

While still subject to litigation, the affadavit tells a story of an individual being incentivized by Deel to work for Rippling, and instructed to search Slack, Google Drive, and other company resources to share sales leads, product roadmaps, customer accounts, and other key pieces of competitive intelligence. If true, this is certainly ILLEGAL.

At HelloInfo, we conduct legal, and ethical competitive intelligence that allows you to access these same key pieces of information without going to such lengths.

Our research Code of Ethics requires that we are transparent, honest, aligned with our clients' policies, and compliant with any applicable laws.
