Way to go, Takoda Gurney!

Takoda ran 21.13K in 2h 1m and 37s after training for eight-weeks to be able to run his first half-marathon!

While training, Takoda raised $2100 for Ride for Refuge. These proceeds will go towards offering free low-barrier trauma-based counselling services for male-identified folks!

Ksan Society is the proud host charity for RIDE for Refuge on October 2 in Terrace. We are a registered, charitable organization that is committed to supporting people “where they’re at” in the trauma they have experienced. We do this through our anti-violence programs by providing trauma informed counselling for women and children, practical court-related assistance for all persons, sexual assault support, safe spaces, safety planning, and so much more.
In our community, there is no free, community-based trauma counselling for men. Everyone is deserving of specialized counselling support; however, it is not financially accessible for all folks. Please help us to close the gap in services for men; we believe that in doing so, we can address domestic, family, and sexual violence in a more holistic manner.
