Ironstone Stables

We are SO relieved to say that all our horses at Ironstone stables have tested negative for strangles 🙌 Harwich Vet along with Omafra have given us the all clear to go back to normal and we are free to travel!
Only one horse was sick through this and with very minimal symptoms.
We are so thankful to have an amazing vet to work with, Dr. Kendra, an amazing staff and the best boarders who were so diligent and supportive through this stressful time❤️

In best interest of the local horse community we want to share that one of our horses tested positive for strangles yesterday. He is already fever free and seems to be resolving with no one else showing symptoms so far, thankfully they are very well vaccinated.
We are working very closely with Harwich vet and taking all the necessary precautions that they are suggesting. We will remain quarantined until we are cleared. We will keep everyone informed as we know more!

Great weekend at Angelstone! Cash was second in the 3’3 open over fences and 3rd in the 3’0 derby with a score of 95. Zeke is learning how to be a show pony and Luna and Gracie had great results in all their classes! Including a second in the pony derby and a third a tough medal class.

We are deeply saddened to say that this past week we said goodbye to our sweet Max. Max lived with us until he was almost 30 years old and we have loved him so much since day one. Max was the first school horse we ever bought for Ironstone and he slowly moved to semi retirement over the last few years. Max taught SO many riders over the years, if anyone has any pictures of him that they’d like to share on here we would love to see them. To say he will be missed is an understatement ❤️

We’ve decided to postpone our January 26th hunter show to March! We will keep our February 23rd date as is. I will post the March date soon 😊

Great first show of the season! Thanks to everyone who made it out, to all our helpers, for judging, and to Jeanine for some great prizes! See you all on Dec 15th for the next one!

A reminder that our first hunter show is next Sunday! Entries are due by Thursday the 21st, please email them to [email protected]. Send your name, your horse’s name and the division you’d like to enter. Any entries after this date can enter the show but will be charged a $10 late fee.
