A stronger fundraising structure may not feel as exciting as a new campaign idea, but it is often what makes future growth more possible.

Before trying to grow fundraising revenue, ask what keeps creating friction.
That answer often tells you more than the next tactic will.

Revenue growth gets much harder when the underlying fundraising system is still working against the team.
Sometimes the next step is not adding more. It is fixing what keeps slowing the work down.

If supporters only hear from your organization when you need something, stewardship may be the missing piece.
Small, consistent updates can make a real difference in how people understand and stay connected to your work.

Perfection is not required. Consistency is what helps.
In this clip from Raising Impact: Storytelling for Nonprofits, Janine Ayoub shares a simple but important point: nonprofit teams do not need to wait until their stories are polished before they start sharing their impact.
A consistent practice of noticing and capturing stories can make communication stronger over time.
If your organization has been waiting for the "right" moment to tell its story, this is a good reminder to start with what you have.

Good stewardship is often less about big gestures and more about consistent habits.
A few personal touchpoints over time can help supporters feel remembered, appreciated, and connected to the work.

Numbers matter, but they do not tell the whole story.
In this clip from Raising Impact: Storytelling for Nonprofits, Janine Ayoub of YAMM Services talks about why nonprofits need more than data to communicate impact well.
Numbers can show what happened. Story helps people understand why it matters.
If your organization has ever struggled to move from reporting activity to showing change, this clip offers a useful perspective.

New episode coming next week: Perfection Not Required with Janine Ayoub of YAMM Services
How can nonprofits communicate impact in a way that feels clear, honest, and doable?
In next week's episode of Raising Impact: Storytelling for Nonprofits, Janine Ayoub shares practical insight from her work with nonprofits in fundraising, communications, storytelling, and community-centred growth.
You'll hear about why storytelling matters alongside data, how organizations can get started when impact feels difficult to capture, and why authenticity and consistency matter more than getting everything perfect.
Janine also introduces Anqido, an impact and project-management platform designed to help nonprofits turn their work and data into clearer reports, dashboards, and stories.
If this is something your organization is working on right now, give it a listen.

Strong grant results usually come from more than a well-written proposal.
They come from understanding an organization’s priorities, identifying the right opportunities, building a realistic grant pipeline, and creating the systems needed to move applications forward consistently.
Over the past two years, Collaborative Cause has helped one nonprofit client secure approximately $500,000 in new grant funding and secure another $1M in renewable grants.
That kind of progress comes from strategy, strong storytelling, relationships, funder knowledge, and consistent follow-through.
Our Grant Strategy & Writing Support service provides focused monthly support for small to mid-sized Canadian nonprofits that want stronger grant prioritization, funder context, and proposal development.
We currently have capacity for 2 new nonprofit clients for the remainder of 2026.
If your organization wants to strengthen its grant strategy without hiring a full-time fundraising specialist, I’d be happy to connect.

Stewardship matters, but for many nonprofit teams it is one of the first things to become inconsistent when capacity gets tight.
That is usually not because people do not care. It is because stewardship is often imagined as something bigger and more time-consuming than it needs to be.
In practice, strong stewardship is often built through smaller, more consistent actions.
It does not need to be elaborate to be meaningful.
