Regina first responders have been inundated with overdose calls this month. With trends from the larger centers tending to pop up in the Southwest shortly thereafter we want to send out a warning and remind everyone to carry naloxone and never use alone. Remember the Good Samaritan act protects you in case of calling 911 for an overdose.

When crisis erupts and you call in an emergency during an overdose Hutch Ambulance answers the call. They work tirelessly in our community to help people and their loved ones as they struggle during crisis with addiction & mental health. 🛑 Today DSAC was alerted to a toxic drug supply going around the city. This supply has required multiple doses of naxolone and left users hospitalized. The ministry of health issued an alert after multiple hospitalizations were required. Drugs were sold as M**A but contained co***ne, methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Please call 911 immediately if someone is overdosing. Remember the Good Samaritan Act protects those involved from criminal charges. Carry naloxone and stay safe. 🛑

Nine years ago, the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act became law in Canada. Its purpose is to reduce fear and offer some legal protection for individuals who experience or witness a suspected overdose and seek emergency help; ultimately encouraging people to call 9-1-1. During an overdose, the priority of police is to save lives and support a safe emergency response.

We recognize the complex challenges of substance use and addiction and their intersection with public safety. Through a whole-of-city, health-led, approach, we continue to support responses to overdoses wherever possible – and so can you!

SK Health Authority has issued another alert in response to a continual increasing amount of drug overdoses and now three suspected fatalities. Previous sample substances have tested positive for fentanyl and benzodiazepines. We strongly advise the public to take caution, carry naloxone and check in with your loved ones who may be struggling.

An overdose alert was issued today by Saskatchewan Health Authority for Regina & area. We know from past circumstance it’s only a matter of time before these substances hit our streets locally.

Stay safe, always carry naloxone and check in on your loved ones.

Sam Tindall turned personal tragedy into purpose after losing her brother to an overdose. Determined to honor his memory, Sam shared her brother's story in this heartfelt video to raise awareness about addiction and remind others that no one is alone in their struggles. Through her courage and honesty, Sam is not only keeping her brother's legacy alive but also helping others find understanding, compassion, and hope in the face of loss.
