Happy 42nd, Josh.
We love you.
We cherish you.
We miss you more than anything.
Four years ago, we were writing, rewriting, and perfecting the song, Redshift Horizon. Josh was exceedingly proud of it. He believed this was the proof that we were embarking on a journey of profound, mature, truly fantastic new music. Give it a listen and take a moment to remember a man that was a source of love, energy, creativity, and joy.

Music took a backseat each and every time we got together. Love and friendship was always primary.
Our homes were open. We would make coffee and food. We would share deserts and snacks and booze and stories and unending laughter.
Our dedication meant there was a time when we would practice outside in Langham seated on old pallets in the heat of the sun. Other times we would find ourselves stuffed into someone’s living room with a few guitars and microkorg synth. But we were together.
Relentlessly, we chose to love with intention first and foremost. It was never business and it was never a chore. Sometimes it was a challenge, sometimes it was a compromise, but it was always full and satisfying.
Three empty years have passed.
Many more will come and go.
We miss you.
We love you.
We thank you.

Happy birthday, Superman.
Not a day has gone by that we have not thought of you, missed you, and longed for you to be with us again.
We love you. Thank you for loving us.

Simulacra (Live at Rainy Day Recording Co.)
On our recent album, Arrest Your Ascent, the song “Simulacra” closes the project with a cautionary tale and a reluctant hope. It is nostalgic, juxtaposing the painful feelings of dissatisfaction with the kind of wilful-ignorance necessary to seek joy into the future. It is an all too common story, not often told in music, that has become a type of mythology for us. This version of the song is near and dear to our hearts and we are thrilled to finally share it.
Accompanying this is the release of our full-length live interview with Mark Allard-Will, along with our producer Matt Stinn, and frequent guest vocalist, Reisha Peters. In the interview, we discuss lyrical inspiration, our approach to song-writing, and the role of music in grief. We are grateful for Mark’s gracious and generous discussion and thank him for the enormous amount of work he did to bring it all together. Thank you Mark Armstrong Allard!
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. We hope you’ll give this track a listen!

Today is Josh’s birthday. He would have been 40 years old.
Many of our fans know Josh as a drummer, guitar player, and an unstoppable creative.
He was also generous. He loved to serve—delicious coffee, food, wine—whatever he thought would meet the needs of his friends and remind them that they were loved.
These photos are what band practice often was. It is a presence that we collectively miss immeasurably.
Happy birthday, dearest friend. We love and miss you endlessly.
Simulacra is one of our favorite songs on the new album. We recently had the opportunity to record a live acoustic version. Music video can be found on our YouTube channel. Check it out! Let us know what you think!
