Jacob Bros crews at the Hwy #1 - 232nd overpass are working hard to finalize bridge foundations. The scale of this structure and its seismic resilience is hard to appreciate from a photo, but this is a monster of a bridge structure! 👷‍♂️

This substructure will support the bridge overhead, providing an updated and widened overpass for commuters on 232nd Street and improve access across the freeway for the community🚧💪

The Galloping Goose Trail Footbridge was successfully installed this week at our Hwy 1 – Bus Lanes project in Victoria! 🎉🏗️

Using a two-crane lifting plan, crews executed a precise and well planned lift to set the bridge onto concrete abutments either side of Craigflower Creek. The initial pick set the bridge on a cantilever over the east abutment, allowing the second crane to connect for a second lift to place the structure into its final resting position. The team planned and executed the lift to minimize impact to surrounding road users and Galloping Goose Trail cyclists. 🚧

The operation drew quite a crowd of observers as , and the consultant team, brought a group of young engineers to observe the operation. Even passersby stopped to take in the sights. 👷‍♂️🤝

Next up is placing the concrete deck - stay tuned !🙌
