Gracie is only one year old, but she has already been through more than any dog ever should.

She is a beautiful cream-coloured girl, about 12.1 kg, with a gentle heart, a bright smile, and only three legs. But please don’t let that make you feel sorry for her — Gracie is not broken. She is brave, sweet, loving, and so ready to be someone’s beloved family member.

𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗘’𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬
Gracie was failed by the person who was supposed to protect her.
When she was only about three months old, she was kept tied outside by her former owner. One day, she broke free and ran onto the road, where she was hit by a truck. Her back leg was so badly injured that amputation was the only way to save her life.

When her former owner was told that Gracie needed surgery and care to survive, they did not choose to save her. They asked the vet to put her down because the treatment was too expensive.

But the vet looked at Gracie and saw a little dog who still wanted to live.

He refused to let her story end there. He saved her, treated her, and gave her the second chance she so desperately deserved.

After everything Gracie survived, her former owner still abandoned her at the hospital because she now had only three legs.

And yet, Gracie is still here.

Still smiling.
Still trusting.
Still wagging her tail.
Still looking at people with hope in her eyes.

Fudai has been with me for two weeks now, and during this time, I’ve had the chance to learn much more about her personality.

She is a very sweet and lively little girl full of energy. Although her tiny body is only about 20 lbs, she seems to have no intention of slowing down for even a moment. When she is not playing and wrestling with the other small dogs, she enjoys playing with toys by herself. Her favourite is a ball — she can happily entertain herself with it for a long time. She is affectionate, wants to be around her human.

Fudai loves treats and is very food-driven, which makes her easier to train. At 8 months old, she is smart and at a wonderful age to learn, build good habits, and grow with her future family.

Her potty habits are also very good. Although she was previously trained in her foster home to use an indoor dog toilet, she quickly adjusted to going potty outdoors during her walks and outdoor time. As long as she is taken outside on a regular schedule, she should no longer need p*e pads.

Fudai would do best with a loving, active family that enjoys outdoor activities and can provide her with patience, structure, plenty of playtime, proper care, and continued training as she grows.

She is still a young puppy, full of curiosity and energy, and she deserves a family who will guide her with kindness, patience, and commitment.

Gold was rescued from a dog meat truck.
His life could have ended before it truly had a chance to begin.

But Gold was saved.

Despite his difficult beginning, Gold has grown into a friendly and affectionate young dog. He loves people, does well with children, and is friendly with other dogs.

Irving’s hernia surgery was successful, and he is recovering beautifully in the loving care of his foster family.

Meet Irving, a sweet little white poodle boy with the cutest face and a heart full of love.
At around 1 year old and 4.55 kg, Irving is a small, adorable companion who is ready to begin his new life with a family of his own.
Irving was rescued from a crowded dog pound, where he had little chance of survival. We may not know every detail of his past, but from his lovely manners and good potty habits, it seems likely that he once had some home training. So far, his potty routine has been very good, and he has been adjusting well to home life.

Despite the changes he has been through, Irving is a friendly and affectionate little boy. He enjoys being around people, loves cuddles, does well with children, and is friendly with other dogs. He is also not food or toy aggressive.

Irving walks well on leash and has shown himself to be a sweet, social, and charming little companion.

Irving has been seen by a veterinarian, and a small hernia was found on his belly. He will need a minor surgery to repair it.

Some of you may remember Fudai’s story.

In October 2025, Fudai was first seen at one of our rescue partners in Shanghai — an animal sanctuary founded within Wanfo Pavilion, a thousand-year-old Buddhist nunnery.

At that time, she was just a tiny puppy.
A life that had almost been lost.
A little soul who had already survived more than any puppy ever should.

When Fudai was found, she was fragile, injured, and in desperate need of help. But she was saved, cared for, and given a name full of blessing.

Her name, Fudai, means blessing.

And today, that blessing has arrived in Canada.
🤍 Fudai is safe. Fudai is here. And now she is ready for her forever home.

After months of care, healing, and preparation, Fudai has made the long journey to Canada to begin the next chapter of her life.

Despite everything she went through as a tiny puppy, Fudai has grown into a sweet, affectionate, active, and loving little girl. She is still young, still learning, and still discovering the world around her — but she carries such a soft and beautiful spirit.

Like many rescue dogs, she may need a little time to settle into a new home. But with patience, kindness, and consistency, we believe she will blossom into a wonderful companion.

I first met Fudai in October 2025, when I traveled to Shanghai to visit one of our rescue partners — an animal sanctuary founded within Wanfo Pavilion, a thousand-year-old Buddhist nunnery.

With a history that stretches back centuries, Wanfo Pavilion has long been a quiet spiritual place. Today, beyond its ancient walls, it has also become a sanctuary for animals in need — offering care, shelter, and compassion to those who have nowhere else to go.

That day, I met the abbess, Venerable Shi Xingkang.
By chance, I saw a tiny puppy she had just rescued.
She was only slightly bigger than the palm of a hand.
Her eyes were barely open.

We later learned that her littermates had been thrown into a trash bin.
When the nunnery received word, the abbess immediately asked volunteers to rush to the scene. Several puppies were pulled out.
They were about to leave.

And then—
They heard something.
A faint, desperate whimper… from the grass nearby.

There was another puppy.
She was injured.
Her tiny shoulder covered in blood.
On her shoulder were five deep, evenly spaced puncture wounds — clearly inflicted by a sharp object with five prongs.
It was a hot day.
The wounds had already become infested with maggots.

Holding that fragile little life in her hands, it was impossible not to feel shaken.
That in this world, there could be such cruelty—
that even a creature so small, so helpless, could be hurt in such a way.

And yet—
She was found.
She was saved.

The abbess named her Fudai.
A name of blessing.
A life that escaped death.
A wish that from that moment on, her days would be filled with kindness, protection, and love.

I remember quietly saying to the abbess—
When she is old enough to travel, I will come back for her.
I will bring her to Canada.
And I will make sure she finds a home where she will be truly, deeply loved.

She is here after 7 months.
