This kind of feedback is what keeps us striving to be better and better. One of my oldest customers, and one of my favourite customers decided to have her Pond renovated. We put this Pond in almost 20 years ago and it was still running well. We decided to expand slightly and add a new waterfall feature. Good customers allow us to use our creativity.

For my local customers….
I am now carrying the “PH pills”
KH is one of the most overlooked water parameters. Your carbonate hardness or (KH) prevents pH crashes.
pH crashes can happen for many reasons, and without carbonates in your water, there is nothing to act as a buffer.
There are several other benefits to keeping your KH levels above 80 PPM.
Tapwater contains very low KH levels.
It infuriates me when I see stores charging a lot of money for these pH pills as they are extremely easy and cost-efficient to make.
There are only two ingredients, and a bit of a process to make them. I will be selling them to my customers at a minimal cost just to regain my material expenses.
If you’re interested in further info about carbonate hardness or how it works to buffer your pH, feel free to DM or ask under this post.
Quick pro tip for adding aeration to your Pond. It cost zero dollars. If you have a pipe with water going into your pond, you can do this simple trick.

For those interested, I have created a Facebook group for Koi health and Pond care. Information on parasites, water parameters, filtration, ultraviolet, clarification, etc.

It’s always a good thing when the customer is so excited you have to censor their thank you text lol.

One rock at a time.
Getting the water flow perfect is always a bit of an OCD moment for me.

Filtration, filtration, filtration. This is over 80 gallons of Kaldness K3 in two retrofit sand filter cases. This allows me to have a large fish load in small gallonage. You do not need to spend thousands and thousands on proprietary filtration units. A retrofit sand filter is fairly easy to do. Removing the sand and altering the internals allows you to replicate the $6000 filter systems for several hundred dollars. .
