Fun with Numbers: Turn math into a game. Play board games or card games that involve counting. It's fun and educational! 🎲

Daily Practice: A little bit every day can make a big difference. Spend 10 minutes on math before bedtime. It's like a brain workout! 💪

Stay Positive: Remember, it's okay to make mistakes. They're just stepping stones to success. Always cheer on your child's efforts. 🎉

And hey, if things get a tad too challenging, consider getting a math tutor. A little extra help can go a long way! 😉

Did you know more sleep can lead to better grades? 😴😴😴 It’s true!

A study done at McGill University and the Douglas Mental Health University found that children who had better sleep actually performed better in math and languages!

This may sound obvious, but I know FAR TOO MANY kids that try to "cram" or “pull an all nighter” to prepare for a test… This is counterproductive…

It is much more effective to go to bed early, get a great night's rest and then hit the books the next morning. They will retain more!

Your child may lack motivation for a certain topic because there are some things they don't yet understand.

A way to alleviate this is to encourage them to focus on first doing what they DO know how to do. . Start off with what they can do and they'll learn more as they go!

Does your child lack confidence?

Confidence is arguably the most important thing when it comes to learning.

From my personal experience, the subjects that I didn't feel confident in were the toughest for me! This was because I didn’t believe that I was ABLE to do well... and it showed.

One of the best ways to begin improving your child’s confidence is celebrating small victories. Be excited for them and celebrate when they do something well!

This is a great first step in helping your child believe in themself.

It’s important to check out the different note taking techniques because one method might resonate with your child over another!

Everyone knows that in school, note taking is essential… So. take the time to learn the different methods, test them, try them and see which one is best for your child :)

How has helping your child with homework been this week? 🤪

I understand, it is REALLY hard to watch your child get frustrated and beat themselves up after having a hard time understanding their homework.

This is incredibly common in students of all ages!

I have seen some of the brightest students speak negatively to themselves because they aren’t understanding something.

It is important to let them know that it is OKAY to not understand something at first and feel frustrated.

Then...have them step away from the work causing them frustration for a while by either taking a break or working on something else.

Sometimes, taking a break allows them to calm down and also come back with a fresh perspective.

Negative self talk is counter-productive! Believe me… Just because I'm a tutor does not mean that I have not been frustrated or had a tough time grasping a subject. But, I had to learn how to get through it and I can help your child get through it too.
