Summerside Intermediate School

Students in grade 9 for the 2026-2027 school year are getting an amazing opportunity to travel to Quebec City and Ottawa in January/February 2027 with staff from SIS.

We presented the trip to grade 8 students this week. Below is the slideshow with all the information(costs, fundraising, etc), the booking link and sample itinerary(schedule will be finalized when NHL schedule is released in July).

- At this time we are planning on accepting the first 95 students and will do a waiting list after that. The ultimate goal is to take as many as possible!

Our 8th graders celebrated Outsiders Day today!

A big thank you to Colin MacIntyre for bringing his Mustang despite the rainy weather!

Thank you as well to Holman’s Ice Cream Parlour, Kool Breeze Ice Cream Barn, and Sunny’s Dairy Bar for generously providing ice cream coupons as prizes. And thank you to Mr. MacDonald for hosting Outsiders Trivia in the cafeteria at lunch!

Thank you to Amalgamated Dairies Limited (ADL) for providing chocolate milk for our Outsiders breakfast.

Most of all, thank you to our Grade 8 students for getting into the spirit of the day and making it so memorable!

Tomorrow is Outsiders Day! We can’t wait to see all our 8th graders dressed up tomorrow!

Celebrating Our 5th Annual Rotary Book Day!
We held our 5th annual Rotary Book Day today. This year, thanks to the generosity of our the Summerside Rotary Club and community partners, 1,428 books were gifted to students in 8 schools across Prince County, helping foster a love of reading that will continue throughout the summer.
A huge thank you to our Literacy Team Lead, Lauren Key, whose dedication and organization make this event possible year after year. We are also grateful to our literacy teacher advisors, Mrs. Silliker l, Mrs.Johnston, and Mrs. Langille, for their hard work and commitment to promoting literacy in our school.
Special thanks to Kelly Boyd for her unwavering support of this initiative from the very beginning. Your encouragement and belief in the importance of literacy have helped this event grow over the past five years.
Thank you to Mrs. Carrie MacLellan and her rock band for providing fantastic music at our assembly, and to Ms. Harvey for doing a wonderful job as our MC.
We would also like to recognize our principal, Mr. Doug Doyle, whose support of Rotary Book Day over the past five years has helped make it
such a meaningful tradition at SIS.
