Watching him put his all into finding real solutions for the problems our city is facing has been incredible and I hope the people
of summerside will give him the opportunity to put those plans into action as the next mayor of Summerside!

Hello, my name is Nathaniel Lykow.

Serving this community has always been my priority, and today, I am taking a step forward to run for mayor. I am not asking for a title, I am asking for the opportunity to listen to your needs, advocate for your families, and lead our city toward meaningful progress.

I am not a seasoned politician. Just an everyday citizen, stepping up to make a difference.

On September 18, 2022, my family went through our darkest moment. We lost just about everything in a house fire. I ended up with burns over nearly a quarter of my body, and my wife and I had a seven month old baby to care for. We were on the brink of homelessness.

But the people of Summerside didn't let us fall. This community rallied around us, picked us up, and gave us a future.

Ever since then, I’ve felt a deep, unshakeable debt of gratitude to this city. When our neighbors support us in our time of need, we owe it to them to give that same level of support back. For me, that meant finding hands-on ways to serve, including partnering with our local Legions to donate cookies from our families small business to support the poppy fund campaign, to personally coordinating food support to feed our food insecure residents and working with other local small businesses to create free, family friendly events.

I believe the local government should work so well that citizens don't have to step away from their lives and families to fix basic problems. But right now, our city is facing real challenges, and our most vulnerable neighbors are slipping through the cracks. I’m running for Mayor in the upcoming election on November 2, 2026, because I stand for direct, straightforward change.

My platform won't be filled with political buzzwords or empty promises. It is focused entirely on the basics:

* Grid Reliability: Utilizing provincial grants to implement robust upgrades for our community owned Summerside Electric so our residents and small businesses have dependable, reliable power at lower rates.
* Housing Security: Accelerating affordable housing development so everyone in Summerside has a safe place to sleep.
* General quality of life for all residents: Bringing a non partisan, honest, and collaborative approach to City Hall. Tackling public transportation, a 24hr emergency shelter and more.

Local government should be a tool of direct mutual support. Built on the same community spirit that pulls neighbors through their darkest times.

I want to pay back what this city gave to me. I'm ready to listen, ready to work, and ready to serve.

The owners of this awesome sweet shop reached out a few weeks ago about putting our cookies in their store and we were happy to partner up with them to bring our delicious stuffed and gourmet cookies to Victoria PEI!

So if you’re down that way and have been craving a cookie from Dabomb, now you know where to go!

They typically carry cookies in the flavours cookies and cream, s’mores, Biscoff, strawberry cheesecake and peanut butter pretzel!

Another cake that went out over the weekend…

The request was simple, elegant, cream and sage colour scheme, light florals for a bridal shower.

This was a 3 layer carrot cake with a cream cheese frosting filling. The pictures were provided by the customer.

I love how simple yet beautiful a cake can be and I could probably pipe a buttercream rose with my eyes closed at this point 😂

Schedule is filling up for August and September, we will be taking minimal custom orders in November/December as we focus on our holiday event lineup!

I’ve been so busy these last couple of weeks while also trying to balance my full time job and time with my family so it’s been a lot of cat nap nights and very early mornings! (Caffeine is my best friend rn 😂)

It’s all worth it in the end because I get to bring joy to people through food in both my day job and my passion project!

This cake order was a last minute request but I couldn’t say no because everyone deserves a beautiful (and delicious) cake on their birthday!

We had quite a few orders go out over the weekend!

Here’s the first one that went out last week!

This gender neutral baby shower requested cookies and cupcakes with the same colour scheme! I really liked how this order turned out!

Just an FYI we’ve been having consistent issues with our messenger not working properly so if you’re reaching out via messenger and not getting a response right away, chances are we’re trying to get back to you but our access to our messenger has been intermittent at best!

I totally forgot to get pictures of these cakes but thankfully our awesome customer forwarded us some that they took!

I really loved how these ones turned out and was very happy I was able to fit them into my already booked week last week because these were just too cute to pass up doing!

It’s impossible to be my coworker and be on a diet at the same time 😂
