Today we celebrate one year in business, and our hearts are so full of gratitude. Thank you to our amazing parents for trusting us with your children, to our dedicated staff for loving and caring for them like your own, and to our supportive community for cheering us on every step of the way.

This first year has been filled with growth, learning, laughter, and so many special moments. We truly could not have done this without each and every one of you.

We are also incredibly honored to share that over the weekend we received the New Business of the Year Award from SWCC. This recognition means the world to us and is a true reflection of the love, support, and trust from our families, staff, and community.

Here’s to many more years of nurturing little hearts and minds together! 💕

A huge shout out to Meet the Clauses for the fantastic evening at our yearly Christmas event for our parents here in Strathmore last night.

These two are the best for your special Christmas events and are so patient and kind with all the children they encounter.

Another big shout out to all of our Educators that come to work and love these kids as there own we are so blessed to have a great team of ladies in the community that bring there hearts to work everyday and make our facility a great place to drop your children off everyday.

Hello! Strathmore Kids Connection is Strathmore's newest daycare facility. We are so proud to be a part of this small town and to serve over 150 families each week.

As warm weather approaches, our children will be outside a lot, as Strathmore's biggest daycare facility, Kids Connection, also has one of the biggest playgrounds in town for our Kids Connection families to enjoy, and of course, our 25 wonderful educators!

During the summer months, we love to bring in some of our favorite activities!

Kids Connection follows the Alberta Government maximum of $326.25 (100% no hidden FEES—that's right, no yearly hidden costs, no registration fees, no supply fees, NO EXTRA FEES whatsoever).

Diapers too expensive?

We agree, but we supply them, so you don't need to care about the price anymore because it's INCLUDED in your $326.25 monthly fee!

Kids Connection also supplies snacks, vegetables, and fruits; no need to bring any in your lunch—we've got you covered!

Great news! We will be expanding our building this year to accommodate all your future needs! (An additional 5500 sq ft of space will be added to our building in the near future 💙💙)

We are entering our third month since opening our new facility here.

Did you know Kids Connection has ZERO annual additional FEES ? That's right! Kids Connection supplies all diapers, wipes, and all craft and material supplies, as well as two snacks and all milk every single day, and it's all included in our rate that the provincial government has set for all licensed programs: $326.25 per child per month!

March 1 update: Based on the information we have obtained, all facility-based childcare in Alberta will now have a flat fee, regardless of the facility you attend.

This flat fee will save top earners more money on monthly fees, but unfortunately, our lowest earners will see an increase, no matter the daycare they choose. All licensed facilities in Alberta are required to charge parents this new flat fee to obtain funding contracts with the province.

Childcare subsidy will no longer be available for any parents in Alberta.

Attached is the letter for our parents from the Minister of Children's Services.

Kids Connection offers care from 12 months to 6 years of age. We also serve children from Sacred Heart School, from kindergarten to age 12. Pick-up and drop-off are currently available only for this school.

Attached are some of the job duties that you would be performing on a day to day.

- Plan and implement daily programs in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.

- Leads children in activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, demonstrating the use of simple musical instruments, preparing craft materials and demonstrating their use and providing opportunities for creative expression.

- Takes a leadership role in the classroom and provides excellent supervision and interaction with children at all times including in all classroom, sleeproom, outside and playground activities.

- Observes children in their surroundings and assesses individual and group needs.

- Provides training and acts as a role model for students and new team members.

- Meets emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child in the classroom.

- Prepares and maintains the indoor and outdoor play areas for children’s use, including checking toys and equipment to ensure safe functioning and performing various housekeeping and sanitizing of classroom walls, floors, toys, shelves, Etc.

- Participate in lunch, diapering, bathroom and toilet training duties and promotes healthy and independent practices.

- Ensures any special dietary requirements are met;

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Child Development Worker or Child Development Supervisor Certification (formerly ECE Level 2 or ECE Level 3)• Possesses a Degree in Bachelor of Education or an Early Childhood Education Diploma from a recognized College or equivalency (Social work)

- Have a minimum of a level 1 Early Learning Certificate.

- C.P.R. and First Aid are assets

- High standard of professionalism

- Enthusiasm for serving public ensuring that all children and clients are cared for equally and in accordance with Kids Connection standards

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and respond appropriately to client and children’s needs

- High energy level with a strong work ethic

- Excellent organization skills to prioritize workload in order to achieve results in a constantly changing environment

- The incumbent must be capable of lifting and/or pushing up to 45 pounds.
