What started as Macrame as a hobby, has turned into a mama wanting to be as self sufficient as possible, while sharing her dream with others.

Little man and I just picked two grocery bags half full of the prettiest deep purple plums with juicy yellow flesh.

Yum! Now to get making all things Plum.

The color difference between Crab Apple jelly made with white sugar vs raw sugar.

85 litres of the most gorgeous crab apples I've ever seen, chopped, cooked, and strained.

We ended up with 9 quarts and approximately a pint of the most gorgeous Crab Apple juice, I have ever seen.

Now to make jelly. Yum!

When you take a gamble on how much you can reduce the sugar, and your jelly doesn't set, you call it syrup and make waffles.

*staged whisper* it's also freaking amazing on vanilla ice cream 😜

Time to try fermenting some red onion.

I've had pickled red onion, and it was fabulous.

Once this has fermented and created it's own vinegar, it will taste similar.

The difference? Where pickled things aren't best for your body, fermented ones are super healthy. They are full of billions of probiotics, making them your guts best buddy.

And they taste amazing on all kinds of foods, as well as for a snack straight from the jar.

Macrame and Head Pumpkin

I am absolutely loving, this adorable pumpkin.

My usual fall wreath is not looking it's best anymore. So, I may just pilfer a few things to add to this beauty and it will be problem solved.

Stay tuned!

Crab Apple jelly day!

10 cups of juice, and I can't wait to get this batch done, so I can go pick more crab apples!

Giving some gut healthy, probiotic rich, fermented pickles!

This is my first time trying these, so we'll see how it goes. It might take a bit of playing with recipes to find one that I enjoy, but I'm eager to give them a try!

The first pot of crab apples, and juice that strained before I put it in the fridge to go to bed.

Now to finish squeezing the rest of the juice out and getting the next pot cooking.

Can't wait for some amazing Crab Apple Jelly!

Macrame Towel Hanger

There are quite a few cute designs that these little beauties can be done in.

I love the deep rich color of this chocolate brown.

After turning 40, I struggled with dry skin, particularly on my face. I struggled to find a moisturizer that worked, that was also all natural, and cruelty free.

About a year ago I decided to try grassfed beef tallow. The difference was incredible and immediate. My skin felt quenched if it's thirst, and for the first time in a long time, was soft and glowing.

Did you know that Grassfed tallow is Bio-identical to our skin? It's also high in vitamins A, E, D and K.

This is my grassfed beef tallow moisturizer. It contains Dandelion flower infused Apricot kernel oil, and Rosehip oil.

Dandelion infused Apricot kernel oil helps hydrate the skin, reduce inflammation, protect against free radicals, and potentially aid in wound healing and reducing the appearance of age spots.

Rosehip oil offers tons benefits for skin due to it's rich content of vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids.
