Training makes photos like this possible. 🖤

You primarily train so you can get along better at home and on outings in public with your dog.

The nice side effect is you can pose your dog off leash for epic photos. 👌🏻

Board and train sometimes includes camping trips! 🤩

It’s Angus’s (Pointer) first time and Marley (Cocker) has before but had no manners.

We’re here for the next 4 days to train around people and dogs, play on the beach, run in the field, fetch and chew to our hearts content.

Door greetings are one of the most overlooked skills in dog training.

Before we ever add a real person at the door, we teach dogs to hear the knock, disengage from the excitement, and move to a designated place where they can calmly hold position while their owner answers the door.

The next phase introduces real-life role playing with visitors, helping owners learn how to manage both their dog and their guests confidently.

These dogs are all graduates of private lessons and are now building their skills in our semi-private classes—the bridge between one-on-one training and our larger group classes. What’s especially impressive? Every dog in this video struggles with reactivity, and one is dog-aggressive, yet they’re sharing space, staying focused, and working successfully around one another.

We’re incredibly proud of their progress. 👏🐾

Marley had an absolute blast on today’s walk… my front seat, however, did not. 😅

Muddy paw prints and dirty seats are just part of the job.

I picked up a kennel for him tonight so we’re set. But At the end of the day, I’d rather have a dog that’s getting outside, exploring, splashing through puddles, and enjoying life than one that’s staying clean because they never get to have any fun.

Cars can be cleaned.

Happy dogs are worth it. 🐾

Canada Day is only 20 days away.

If your dog struggles with fireworks, now is the time to start preparing—not on July 1st.

Many owners focus on the fireworks themselves, but fireworks are often just the symptom. The real issue is that the dog is uncomfortable with loud, sudden noises, whether they’re caused by fireworks, thunderstorms, construction, gunshots, or something else.

The good news is that confidence can be built.

By gradually exposing your dog to sounds, pairing those sounds with good things, and continuing to train and engage with them around distractions, many dogs can learn that loud noises aren’t something to fear.

Small, consistent training sessions now can make a big difference later.

Actually wish I thought to post this sooner. 20 days might not be enough time for severe cases. Safely secured in a kennel is the best place for them to avoid them pacing and panting staying in a high stress state.

Make sure they have no opportunity to escape your home. If you must be outdoors-gear needs to be on TIGHT to prevent escape. Slip collars make it impossible to fearfully back up and out of their collar.

How does your dog handle fireworks and thunderstorms?
