Mikey Robs Memorial

This month at the Stouffville Arena, a memorial bench was donated by the DiLisi family in loving memory.

This bench is especially meaningful, as Mike was a proud Stouffville local who played for the Stouffville Spirit and went on to win the OJHL Championship in 2012.

A lasting tribute to a life, a teammate, and a hometown legacy that continues to be remembered and honoured.

Ontario Tech University and the Ridgeback community are proud to celebrate the life and legacy of Mike Robinson, a beloved teammate, student and friend whose impact extended far beyond the ice.

Mike, affectionately known as “Mikey Robs,” played five seasons with the Ridgebacks Men’s Hockey team (2014–2018), appearing in 114 games.

In 2017–18, Mike joined the inaugural Ridgeback Leadership Council, serving as Vice President of Athlete Engagement.

On November 15, the Ontario Tech Men’s Hockey Team dedicated their game against McGill University as the Mike Robinson Memorial Game.

Earlier that day, OTU held their alumni skate, where Mike’s former teammates hit the ice in his honour. A banner was unveiled at the arena and now proudly flies, a lasting tribute to Mikey.

A special memory for all who walk the arena and remember the time he spent as a Ridgeback. Thank you to the OTU Men’s Hockey Department and Ontario Tech University for their support in keeping Mike’s legacy alive.

We are committed to carrying him forward in a way that is real and lasting. Through this tournament, through future initiatives, and through the community that continues to grow around him.

September 24, 2025. The day everything changed.

Mike was in Wisconsin on a golf trip. That day, he got his first hole in one at Whistling Straits. A moment he had always dreamed of. He facetimed his wife and daughter and family back home to celebrate with them.

Later that night, while walking back to the hotel, shots were fired from a passing vehicle.
Mike was struck in a senseless act of violence and taken from us.

He was 32 years old. A brand new father.

As of April 7, 2026: A suspect is in custody, and the court process is moving forward in Wisconsin, but it is slow and painful.

We will continue to stand for Mike, and we will not stop seeking justice for what was taken from him and from all of us.

Remembering Mike Robinson: a son, husband, father, brother, friend, and a light in our lives. Your laughter, kindness, and love for your community continue to inspire us every day.
