Hats off to our Dairy Farmers of PEI for their incredible dedication to providing the highest-quality dairy by following stringent food safety standards and working with their herd every day to ensure they are comfortable and cared for.

They work closely with PEI's most well-reputed dairy brands, including and .pei.

That means you can support PEI's dairy farmers simply by picking up a carton of ADL milk, a block of Cows Creamery cheese, a package of Squeak-ies Cheese Curds or any other delicious products from these beloved dairy producers.

🌱On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) Funding Available for Soil Testing & Mapping 🌱

Interested in learning more about the variability in your fields to make informed nitrogen management decisions?

Soil testing and mapping projects that result in a reduction in nitrogen application are now eligible for funding as standalone OFCAF projects! Or you can always incorporate this into another eligible project activity.

This can be a great step toward:
• Understanding soil variability and management zones
• Developing variable rate fertilizer management strategies
• Improving your nitrogen use efficiency
• Informing better nutrient management decisions

Supported activities include grid sampling, SoilOptix, and SWAT (Soil, Water and Topography) mapping.

Brennan, one of the mapping service providers in PEI, is busy each fall after harvest doing SWAT mapping of Island fields and can work with you to apply for funding.

More details are available at ofcafpei.ca, or contact us at [email protected] / 902-368-7289 to learn more about funding and eligibility through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s On-Farm Climate Action Fund.

New Brunswick needs to follow PEI’s lead and step up for our farmers and hard-working New Brunswickers.
Prince Edward Island is suspending its provincial fuel tax on gasoline and diesel for four months, putting real money back in Islanders’ pockets and providing relief at the pump.
New Brunswick must do the same.
This afternoon at Armadale Farms in Roachville, I heard firsthand just how difficult the rising cost of doing business has become for our farmers.
Hubert Duivenvoorden has countless pieces of equipment that depend on diesel to keep his farm operating. The cost of fuel is hitting every part of the operation.
His brother-in-law, Ian Smyth, who with his wife Hetty produces some of the best cheese you’ll find anywhere, put it plainly: costs aren’t just soaring, they’re skyrocketing. By Christmas, they know they’ll have no choice but to raise their prices.
From fertilizer to parts to fuel, the cost of producing food keeps climbing, and we are all going to suffer as a result of that.
When the cost of producing food goes up, families ultimately feel it at the grocery store.
Our farmers are already carrying more than their fair share of disrespect by the Holt government in recent months. They don’t need another reason to question whether they can keep farming in New Brunswick, and whether they are valued.
The same is true for working people and students who have no choice but to drive to work, school and appointments every day.
Especially in rural regions like my riding, keeping the car or tractor parked is not an option.
People need relief at the pumps.
PEI has shown that a provincial government can take action. New Brunswick should follow that example and suspend the provincial fuel tax on gasoline and diesel.
The Holt government needs to step up for the people who grow our food, for the people who go to work every day, and for every New Brunswick family feeling the squeeze.
New Brunswickers, like Islanders, deserve relief now.
