Nicholas Richards has won Keji's Backyard Ultra two years in a row now!
For anyone unfamiliar, a Backyard Ultra keeps going until only one runner remains. There is no finish line you can train toward. You just have to outlast everyone else. Nick did that in 2025 and he did it again this weekend.
That kind of person does not show up differently depending on the setting. We see it on job sites across Nova Scotia every day. Proud of you, Nick!

Last year, Nick Richards stepped up to one of the most grueling ultra running events in Nova Scotia — Keji's Backyard Ultra (Nova Scotia Trail Running), and not only competed, but WON!
This year, he's going back!

Whether it's a job site or a trail in Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site, that mindset is just who we are.
