Sundays (June 7 market) was 33 C and windy. Saturday was 13 C and windy. What is Wednesday market weather going to be? One forecast says sunny and one says rain!

I have tons of plants that are looking for a new home. Market is the South Osborne Market and goes from 4-8 pm.

Not too late to plant tomatoes!

I planted plugs so the tomato plants were on the smaller side. I will put in another 20 or so plants in on June 18. Whatever tomato plants don't sell on Sat or Wed I might throw them in.

I always plant my tomato plants lying down. They develop a better root system and hence are a stronger plant.

Trying something new this year: growing peppers in pots in my hoop house. I've read peppers do better in pots, I can control the "environment", and I want to save seeds.

I'm putting 50 peppers in the hoop house and planting 200 peppers in the garden.

It's too hot to work in the garden in the afternoon so let's have another plant sale! I'll anyways be home so let's find some plants some new homes!

These plants will be going into the ground May 31. Yesterday would have been a perfect time to plant, but I didn't for 3 reasons.

1. Most of my plants are not harden off. They are use to basement conditions: grow lights, cool, and no wind. This week I'll harden them off.
2. Transplant shock. My plants always throw temper tantrums when planted and throw in plus 30 Celius weather and they'd be even unhappier.
3. I have planted during heat waves before and my plants either fried or didn't recover and produced poorly during the season.

So it's looking like May 31 will be the day my plants get planted.

Was a busy Friday. Selling plants til 5 pm, than put in 200 feet of sweet corn , some beets, dill, carrots, and zinnias.

Plant sale us happening again today and tomorrow 12:30-5 pm.

It was a potato day. Not exactly sure how many went in, but around 500. Yesterday I put in 150 Yukon Gold and today I put in the fingerlings and norlands.

I succession plant my potatoes so 5 more weeks of potato planting!
